This station was designed by Santiago Calatrava, as is an extension of our art museum back home. I…read morewasn't homesick, but it was nice to see something a little familiar that wasn't a McDonald's. The airy white design allowing tons of light onto the platforms.... Because it is so open, a nice breeze could be felt blowing through, helping to keep everyone cool.
From our place on the platform, we could look out a bit into/onto the city of Liège, and the views are lovely. On the platform was a giant sculpture of a Rubik's Cube. I didn't get a chance to look into it's significance, but it was a nice explosion of color amongst all the whiteness.
As had been our experience for the last week, the trains all arrived on time, and were fairly comfortable. We traveled from here to Frankfurt.
