You have a lot of acreage, so weed whacking would take until the end of the fire season. Dragging it with a tractor isn't "cutting the mustard". You need a landscaping "Chad" to fix this mess. But where to find one who'll come to your compound in the boonies? Well, it just so happens that there is a Chad for that job, and he runs Ground Werks Landscaping. I found Chad via referral by another crew that does brush clearing with hand and power tools. Our plot was just too big for their approach. Chad gave us a reasonable rate, worked around plants we wanted to keep (native sages and manzanita) and was fast to boot. This is the second year that we have had Ground Werks out, and we'll likely keep calling Chad when we need someone to help with brush clearing, mowing or general land maintenance. He's prompt, efficient and affable, and his pricing is right.
