It's a vegan and vegetarian cafe that serves nice food and a brunch buffet on Sunday. The owners are from Anatolia region of Turkey and the food is prepared in this style. There is a nice selection of cakes and pastries at the counter including Turkish desserts like baklava and others. They make most things in house. The brunch buffet is quite inexpensive at €9 and it was more or less full when I got there. Eggs baked in tomatoes, cous cous, dolmades, soup, fruit, breads and many other items on the brunch buffet. I loved the flavours and enjoyed the dishes very much. A great choice for delicious vegetarian and vegan food in Munich. Glad I tried it and will be back again for a meal. It's no frills but nice and tasty home cooked food for a reasonable price. The atmosphere is eclectic and the owners very nice people.

It's a casual setting and has almost every vegan baked good. I speak zero German, only English. The woman working barely spoke English, but we made it work! She was very nice and even through our language barrier she recommended some delicious treats for me! I highly recommend the donuts (they're filled to the brim!) and the baklava. The baklava at Umi's was better than any I've ever had in my life! I'm thankful for this little bakery. It made my trip in Munich so nice and tasty! Be sure to bring at least €25 -- I'm sure you'll use all of it on fun treats at Umi's!

But after multiple visits, I'm still lukewarm on the place. We've made the mistake of wandering in without a reservation, only to be given attitude (despite the fact that there were plenty of available tables). We've experienced service so slow that we had to go actively looking for the waitress (who is also the cook, owner, and sole person on staff as far as I can tell) to beg for the privilege of buying another round of drinks. In short, while on some visits I feel quite welcome, on others I feel more like a nuisance, which is not really how I want to feel in a restaurant. If you're a vegetarian who finds herself in Munich, Vegelangelo is worth a visit, but only if you are in the mood to be patient over what could end up being a very slow meal.

She finally settled for their Thai Lemon Chicken. Of course I would forget my umbrella and have to endure some drizzling round trip. When I entered the restaurant, there were two parties dining in. I walked up to the cashier and waited till he greeted me. It took a few moments but I then showed him a photo of what Mink wanted. He said do you want 22, 23 or 26? They all come with chicken. I didn't know what to say as I figured he works there and could tell me which one was the Thai Lemon Chicken. After reading the descriptions, I ordered 22 to go. It seemed like the closest option to the photo caption. He didn't ask how I was going to pay so I just assumed it was cash only. They were Chinese so it's possible they were cash only. Typical Chinese take out style customer service. I handed them 20 Euro for the 14.50 Euro dish. The kitchen didn't take long to get my order out. They packed it nicely and the utensils were to the right of the cashier. Mink said the food was better than she expected for Munich but it was just ok. I had some and I concur. It's still a good option if you're craving Asian food in the area.

The mild köfte is perfect if you don't like the my-mouth-is-burning kinda spicy but still enjoy a well spiced and seasoned meal. Lovely lady that owns and runs the shop. We knew about the cat cafe from some pre vacation research. We were excited to find that they were open and serving food when we arrived. All the cats were napping when we arrived but soon five of them would be up and about playing and exploring. They were investigating a paper bag we had from the Nespresso shop so I emptied it out and let them play with it. We got a burger and pulled BBQ sandwich. The food excellent, a smoked paprika Paw print were decorating each plate. Unfortunately we didn't have room for desert. I had the lunch menu which was €7 and came with a starter or dessert choice along with the main course. I had the pumpkin risotto main and it was delicate, tasty (ok don't expect to be blown away;-)) and the portion was big enough for me to take some home. For starter I chose the mushroom soup which was excellent. The seasoning here is a bit light but, nothing a few turns of the salt shaker can't fix ;-)) I am definitely going to be a regular here. There is a nice cosy atmosphere and seats about 20 or so people inside and there is outdoor seating. There is also a shop where you can buy baked goods, some select groceries, wine & beer, bread and cakes. If you are a vegetarian or a vegan in Munich you should visit and try out the extensive menu, and I mean extensive :-) Wine, beer and cocktails are also served here, it is vegetarian after all lol
