Doctor Leon GARCIA has been my PCP / Primary Care Physician for several years and this occurred only after my original previous PCP passed away suddenly. I happened to call his office for an appointment and his receptionist answered informing me of the tragic news. She also informed me that she was now working for another PCP and would be able to refer me to her new employer doctor if I wanted at which I agreed. I liked and trusted my previous doctor and had absolutely no qualms about accepting the receptionist's invitation to schedule to be treated by him. Thus began years of being Dr. Leon GARCIA's patient.
I find his bedside manner to be very down to earth and frank. He's well informed and is always willing to listen and consider his patients' thoughts, questions and opinions. My most important concern regarding our "doctor - patient" relationship is his timely response whenever I need to have my DIABETIC medications "renewed" as it's extremely critical that I always have them as required for the maintenance of my good health. Recently Dr. GARCIA was on leave from his office attending a Medical Conference somewhere on the mainland but that absolutely did not deter his staff from being able to contact him for his consideration. I was informed that day that the medication that I so desperately required would be "filled" that afternoon at the local CVS-LONGS DRUG STORE without any further hesitation. I was suffering from a very debilitating condition of "VERTIGO" and could hardly function doing simple tasks without extreme difficulties. Since I'm only "72 years old" and live entirely on my own I have no one else but myself to shop and drive myself to wherever I'm required to. Having "VERTIGO" makes driving an extremely DANGEROUS activity for myself and other drivers. This was a necessary emergency and because the distance between the doctors' office, my home and the drug store were relatively close I made the decision to make that my priority and to exercise extreme caution while operating my vehicle with my bout of VERTIGO. Needless to say I'm still here, alive and well - AND was able to successfully drive to the doctors, office and the drug store and return home safely "WITH" my urgent medication. read more
