A visit to the phlebotomist is normally filled with endless pokes and lingering bruises, leaving a road map of failure all over my arms and hands. Until today! I went to the newly opened One Medical in Coconut Grove. Kaylee, an expert at finding the impossible, was able to get enough blood to fill 6, 8, 10+ (lost count) vials of blood. I also want to give a shout out to Tyler and Daniel for opening bottles of water and hot compresses, all in a team effort to make the process less stressful, leaving me with just a tiny bruise. I'm so happy this office opened. It's sparkling clean, and everyone couldn't be nicer. This is a huge asset to our community.

I went in for my annual check up, which is covered as preventive under my insurance (no deductible etc). When the exams came back, my doctor requested a follow-up call to discuss the result of the exams. This is a call that was requested by the doctor and over zoom. I was then charged for this call instead of being coded as a continuation of the Service since the Doctor requested the call to review results. I never in my life had this issue with any other provider. If this is how they plan to do business, the least they can do is notify patients that they charge for something no one else does and logically is a continuation of the preventive service.

The initial intake was $1000, then they took blood work and did not let me know it would be another $1000 and then gave me a $500 list of supplements I should purchase from them. Then he offered a "precision plan" which was $12k for 6months for essentially just checkups. My assessment was that this guy doesn't really care about getting people healthy (regular, not wealthy people) but rather preying on people who are dumb enough to fall for all these costs. I got out of there as soon as I could. After I read the reviews about him and that reinforced everything my gut was telling me. Wish I would have read them before wasting $1000 on a consult. This is predatory medicine for people without insurance.

Moreover, he and his accomplice, Nurse Nikki, have no idea how to draw blood for labs, and blame their lack of skills on the patient. They also drop patients mid treatment if they feel that you are not in agreement to the constant manipulation, power play and bullying that goes on consistently during the patient interaction. This doctor is extremely unprofessional, harmful and should not be practicing medicine in any shape or form. It is a matter of time, but his violation towards his patients will cost him his practice.
