I'm using Garbos next week but I wanted to give them 5 stars just based off of Amy's customer service on the phone!!! She was very friendly and personable and took the time to listen to my sob story that I won't go into detail about because nowadays, we all have a sob story, am I right?! 2 days ago a parents worse nightmare became true. I accidentally locked my keys and two small kids inside the car on a HOT day. Luckily the lady parked next to me recommended Garbo's and handed me her phone to call. The dispatcher sprung into action immediately called their tech and he happened to be 5 minutes away from my location. I dropped my 06 F-150 off to have two ignition keys cut and programmed along with two door locks (removed from vehicle) repinned at 8:30 when they opened. I made my request and said I was going to return in a couple of hours after I took care of some business in the area. When I returned at about 10:00 nothing had been done. I was told they would get to it and I would be called when it was done. I figured I could go get an early lunch and my truck would be ready. At 12:30 I returned (have yet to be called) and asked about the status of my order. Nothing still! I requested my keys and locks so I could get to what I needed to get done. That's when the woman behind the counter started to berate me that I didn't know what an emergency was, I cared only about my order (DUH), they couldn't get help, etc, etc, etc. The whole woe is me deal. I just wanted my keys and locks, I was not going to review anyone at that time. After being berated by the GARBOS employee, I stated I would write them a great ZERO review (can't rate a zero, I would rate a sub zero if I could) She then followed me out to my truck berating me along the way. If I had treated a customer that way when I worked retail, I would be out on my butt faster than the customer could leave the store. I will get the work done at someplace else that appreciates my business. I would never recommend Garbos to anyone in the future. There is no need for anyone from Garbos to contact me, because I will never change this review!!!! read more

Be very specific when asking,questions on prices. I asked how much to come out and fix a door lock. I was told $65.00. Job done $92.00 I asked what happened to $65.00 and was told thats trip charge then add labor. read more

Get a written estimate! Went into Garbo's to get a key to my 2005 VW Jetta cut and programmed for the remote lock/unlock, etc. I was greeted by Sharise who acted as if she preferred I left. I asked the price for making an extra key and she said "$45 but no guarantee that it will work". I asked for her to repeat that and she repeated that it cost $45 whether it worked or not. I started to leave for the VW dealer but unfortunately agreed to pay the $45. She ended up getting an apparent manager or owner to show her how to cut the key and program my car so that the key would start the car. They said "it works". Well that was a relief. Then I got blindsided. Sharise rang up the receipt and said "that will be $86.60"! "Do what?!" I said. "What happened to the $45 quote? That was just for "cutting the key", not programming your key where it would work. The manager or owner was standing there and Sharise insisted that told me that there was an additional charge of $35 to program the car. Untrue. She refused to acknowledge that she told me $45. About this time a man behind said "she is my wife" in what I took to be a threatening tone. I was stuck with paying $86.60 with sales tax because an employee would not be truthful about what happened. read more

I do not write reviews very often and almost always only for very good or very bad service. Happy to say this time for excellent service. These folks are by far the best, most reasonably priced locksmiths I have ever had the pleasure of using for locksmith services. Robert, the technician, was knowledgeable and friendly and started out trying to save me money even after making at least a 90 mile round trip service call. Hopefully I won't need them again but I would definitely use them if do. I feel like I will be disappointed by whoever I call if I ever have to call another locksmith and these guys are not available. Thank you Garbo's read more

Very rude worker named Sharise (sp?) I called to ask how much it would cost to cut and program a key to my car she told me that a guy called and I already told him it would be cheaper to take it to the dealership, well why is it my business what she told someone else when I just need to know how much it will cost ME for MY car not someone else's! She preceded to tell me it would be cheaper for me to take mine to the dealership as well... I told her I would like to know how much it will cost there if she could please give me a price after a few times going back and forth with her telling me to take it to the dealership and me just wanting a price she finally told me it would be $295 to have a key cut and programed (just the key not the clicker) and when I asked her if she could break down the price so I know what I'm paying for and she got all rude and hateful and said something about $45, $25, and $95 when I asked about how that came to $295 she continued her attitude with me so I asked to speak to a manager and she said she's with a customer so I said I would wait for her she said we are busy and hung up on me. I personally will never use Garbo's again!!! It shouldn't be that hard to get a price and an employee shouldn't be rude like that to potential customers!!!! read more
