The spiral road leading up is narrow, so be careful, otherwise you will hit a wall. And be sure and pre-pay your ticket before you drive up to the exit area, otherwise you will have to reverse, and this could create a problem if folks pile up behind you. Once parked, it is a short walk into the wonders of Venice. For 15 euros, you can't beat the evening price. If this place is full, or if you just don't like the ugly building, especially in contract to beautiful Venice, there are other options nearby at similar prices.

The bridge connects 2 key districts in Venice: San Marco and San Polo. It was only a 15 minute walk over for us and as we approached I was surprised to see it wasn't just a bridge. There were jewelry shops, leathered goods shops, Murano glass shops, and other different types of souvenir shops. The only downside is that IT WAS SO BUSY. The crazy inconsiderate tourists would be walking and then stopping part way through the bridge blocking the flow of the walk way to talk their photos. I feel like you're obligated to see the Rialto Bridge if you're in Venice, but mentally prepare for some madness.

We came to the train station early in the morning to drop off our luggage at the Left Luggage office. Prices: First 4 hours - 6€ From 5th to 12th hours - additional 1€ per hour More than 13th hours - an additional 0,50€ per hour Our train ride was under 4 hours away so we didn't have to worry about the additional charges. We left 2 carry-on suitcases and a backpack, so that we can enjoy exploring the city in the morning before our train ride in the afternoon. With Venice being congestion and having a lot of stairs, it's not comfortable dragging luggage around everywhere. It was actually really fortunate that we came early to leave our stuff here because later in the morning, some of the waterbuses declined passengers with luggage due to space limitations. When we took the waterbus back, some folks were turned down and they probably missed their train ride because of it. Also, while we were at the station, there were plenty of businesses to buy meals and snacks for our train ride. I recommend coming early to prevent missing your train and also so you can settle in and pick up snacks for your train ride.

This time there was an option online to pre-book a parking spot inside the building. Easy pre-paid by card and by making an account (or as guest). You choose a time-slot for your arrival. You can enter up to an hour before your chosen slot and it doesn't matter if you arrive later. You get a QR code after the booking. When arriving, you just hold the code to the machine at the entrance and that's it. Very easy, very conveniant. Worked perfectly. Easy in and out. There are plenty of spaces, our mid-sized SUV had no problems, also around turns and corners - the place is spacious and your car completely safe here. There are ATMs, chargers for EVs, elevators, snack machines, toilets and ticket booths to book public transport and/or Vaporettos. We've paid a little less than 30 Euros a day. And for a city like Venice that's definitely a fair deal. From here it's a very short walk to the Vaporetto - and a short ride right into Venice (like Ferrovia - the train station or further of course). You will take the Vaporetto No. 2 from here. We were really happy with this parking option. And will definitely use it again next time.

Our problem came when we parked and took a snapshot of a sign that said E1 near a security camera. We were happy that the camera was near our car and went on our way. Two days later we could not find the car in section E1. After an exhaustive search we learned that the camera marked E1 was not located in the E1 section of the garage. It was actually located in E2. I'd advise you to verify and reverify the location of your car before you exit. Multiple photos would have helped us. For the management at Tronchetto, please consider a complete review of your signage for accuracy. Don't assume that new visitors will know anything about where to go for the People Mover and Vaporetto systems. Large, well-positioned, accurate signage would have been helpful and would have saved us a lot of frustration.

If you look at the map of the islands, the Grand Canal connects everything with a graceful S shape. In the medieval and renaissance times, Venice was a major trade area and an essential route for merchant ships bringing spices, silk, and other goods from the east. Our gondolier told us how there weren't bridges until Napoleon came along. Everyone traveled around by boat and the closer to the water the richer they were. Even today, traveling by water is the main method of getting around the city. When we first arrived, we saw movers with a crane on their boat hauling furniture. On our last day there, we even saw ambulance by water. It was also such a treat being able to take a gondola ride as part of our experience in the city. I enjoyed the day to day moments of walking around and exploring the city and taking photos on the Grand Canal. Every scene was so unique and stunning.

When one reaches the bridge, make sure to peer out through the narrow gaps in the stone window grills to catch a glimpse of the island of San Giorgio Maggiore glittering splendidly in the waters of the Venetian lagoon. The best time to see this bridge is still surprisingly quiet in the mornings, the earlier the better, or at sunset, which we can recommend.

This is without a doubt the most important religious site in the city of Venice. At the time of our visit, there was construction on front of the building, but it was still beautiful. It is a masterpiece of Byzantine architecture with Gothic influences. There was so much incredible detail that went into every inch of the building. I did not get to go inside but the outside was already impressive. A great spot for photos.
