Went in to return an online order after using the online portal, which clearly told me I had time to return it. But the guys behind the counter didn't even let me finish explaining before cutting me off and saying it was not able to be returned. Without looking up my order they glanced at my return slip and told me it was already out of the return window. Then they told me the return window starts from the order date, not the delivery date. Big WTF... the item took 6 days just to arrive! How are customers supposed to return something they don't even have yet? On top of that, the staff were rude and careless. They took the game console out of the box to inspect it, and didn't even bother to rewrap it in the bubble wrap how it came. There were only one other customers in the store, but three employees were just wandering around, barely looking at my return slip and refusing to look up my order in their system. They said their boss "wouldn't allow the return." Basically anything to not assist me. Unprofessional, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. This was a terrible experience and a huge disappointment. Not here or at the bay terrace location. I went to the store and there was a total of one employee working in the entire store. While I waited in line for a customer to very, very slowly articulate what they wanted, I continued to call the store, just to hear the phone ring inside the store. However, this location has the ringer completely silenced. So the employees are never aware of whether a call is coming in or not. I get the employees aren't treated well here. I went in to purchase them and the employee there Brian (692116) had a horrible face and horrible attitude to start off the interaction. I asked if he could bring them down and he looked annoyed. He took them down and asked for a number so I gave him my brothers. He said I couldn't purchase it because my brother made too many purchases yesterday. I think he wanted those controllers for himself because he grabbed the other one and hid both of them behind the cash register. As the newest Pokemon games just dropped, this store's employees did not properly promote the game and its preorder system when I called the store to confirm instructions on how to order the games. The employees provided misinformation regarding the preorder which caused a lot of confusion for me; the employees were also rude and the store was cluttered a few days ago when I went there. Unfortunate that GameStop often gets the recognition that the game franchise itself is responsible for, when GameStop itself is extremely bad in service and also does not hire intelligent people who make sure to learn promotions, products, and vital information. This is such a hard review to write. This specific Gamestop is at such a nice location. It is extremely calm and quiet. There are a few nearby stores that make this place active. All of which are within walking distance, or up the block. Plus there is a movie theater across the street. It just can't be beat. This location gets 4 stores for the fact people can come in and buy video games instantly. No need to shop online, and gamers get instant gratification. The 1 star and problem i have with the store is the employees. They are not very helpful, and seem extremely unengaged. This is the heart of the 1 star review. Every time I find something for $20.00, it magically is always the last item in stock. Really? Suspect much? You know what this means? Yes, the cashier gives me an open game. Their response is always: It is NOT used. It was just opened and used for display purposes. It is the last one we have in stock. We don't not have any additional copies in stock. Always the same robotic responses. If that is the case, then the game should be $5.00. This is why i always buy online because i am always disappointed every time i come in here. I don't want to do it to myself anymore. To add insult to injury, after i buy the open game and walk out the store, the cashier puts the same item back on the shelf to use the same response on the next victim. I looked through the window, stared at the cashier, and confirmed this has happened repeatedly. Just tragic. They aren't even approaching customers to ask them if they needed helps or not, despite's there are four or five customers there includes myself. Avoid this location I would have left if my son really didn't want some new game that came out we walked in and it's your average game stop wasn't busy just one person online there was about 4 or 5 people behind the counter one was the manager they were just hanging out. When we got to the register and we asked for the game Julian the young man got the game for us and told us the game comes with an included warranty when he told us the price after tax was about $70 on a $60 game I asked why he stated the warranty was an extra fee don't tell a customer that a game comes with something and then charge extra for it when the customer never agreed to it. It seems this is there way of operating when I told him he was a scammer Julian could only put his head down and not say anything. It's not about the extra few dollars but don't say it comes With it and make it seem it's included in the original price and then try to charge extra for something the manager walked away when I called him a scammer. The team member were very rude and unprofessional. When I told him that I want to buy the PS4 Bundle, he gave me the PS4 Pro instead. I told him that I did not want the one and I need to change it into the bundle. He said that "I cannot give you money back, I can just give you the gift card with 100+ dollar". WTF?! I went to take the buy 2 get one free preowned items deal. We went up to the register with 6 games and they only had 2 of them available. 2 out of 6. We had to wait at the register and hold up the line while looking for 4 more games to replace them. After that, I went to buy a game and went home just to find out that they didn't give me the game, but instead they gave me the little game package that they leave on the wall, which was 100% empty. I decided to call to see if I could switch it before putting in the time to go to the store, but nobody even picked up the phone. On the receipt the guy charged me for a warranty on each item, but never even mentioned it to me, nor are there any signs around stating anything regarding an automatic charge for warranties. Being charged for something you didn't authorize is illegal and if they don't refund me at store level at my return visit, I'm contacting their corporate and then Better business Bureau. Second, they gave me a used copy of super paper Mario for wii in the WORST condition! It has a deep scratch along with a ton of surface scratches. I've never been given such a garbage copy of a game before. I haven't been to game stop in years and don't plan to return after my follow up visit. I have been going to Gamestop for many years and I'm a Power Up Rewards member. I went to this location a couple of times over the last 4 days and had a great experience every time even when it was extremely busy. I went in today to take advantage of the buy 2 get one free preowned items. I walked in at 7:45pm and was very happy to see there were still open. I wanted to buy 2 Xbox One and 1 PS4 and again was happy to see they were available. Everyone there, including the manager, helped me and they were all very informative and professional. I see that there are many negative comments for this location but I think it's because many people, like myself, use the www.TellGameStop.com to post there positive reviews. I have always had a positive experience at this location but have never thought to post it using Yelp. Today I will leave positive reviews on both Yelp & www.TellGameStop.com. I recommend that everyone in the area and beyond go to this location for the people who work there and also that there is a huge parking lot you can use instead of looking for parking like some other GameStop locations. read more

I placed a game on hold at 10:30 am received the processing email and the confirmation email that they had my game set aside waiting for me to pick up. I get there after work at 6:30 and they said "sorry we sold it 30 minutes ago" Why would you sell an item that was supposed to be on hold for 24hrs? Completely Disgusted by the customer service at this game stop. me and a friend entered this gamestop because i wanted to change my Christmas present which was a preorder to another game, and was met with condescending and snarky comments from who i believed was the store manager (ashley). This was friends second time dealing with gamestop and he was unaware of the customs when it came to preorders and how to verify who the name was under. Ashley felt the need to make passive aggressive comments towards my friend for his little knowledge of how gamestop is run. This isn't a one bad day kind of thing because she was my cashier at the lake success gamestop a couple years ago(2012 i believe). I will not be dealing with this gamestop and im advising everyone including my friends and family that if there is any other gamestop near you go that one because this is unacceptable from a store manager. ive given this gamestop 2 stars due to the fact that i was able to get in and out.
