Customer service is decent, about as much as you'd expect However, just got to laugh about their sales policy. I ordered and put a game on hold that was on sale during Black Friday...I went to the store two days later (the amount of time they would hold it for). Now, with other retail stores, they would honor it at the price it was held at. Here?? "No, sorry, that was a weekend sale." Oh yea, last time I checked it was Sunday still!!! W.T.F. Way to earn new customers!! I didn't bother fighting it. Just said, "NOPE!', left the store, and ordered online with AMAZON at that sales price, even with same day shipping. I just couldn't stop laughing about their overconfidence, walking to my car. Lmao ooo. You're not the only GAME in town. This is even better. Thank you GameStop! :P go sell everything at full price for blind fools who don't know how to comparison shop! Who the hell would pay 80something for a video game. Haha read more

Went in to return an online order after using the online portal, which clearly told me I had time to return it. But the guys behind the counter didn't even let me finish explaining before cutting me off and saying it was not able to be returned. Without looking up my order they glanced at my return slip and told me it was already out of the return window. Then they told me the return window starts from the order date, not the delivery date. Big WTF... the item took 6 days just to arrive! How are customers supposed to return something they don't even have yet? On top of that, the staff were rude and careless. They took the game console out of the box to inspect it, and didn't even bother to rewrap it in the bubble wrap how it came. There were only one other customers in the store, but three employees were just wandering around, barely looking at my return slip and refusing to look up my order in their system. They said their boss "wouldn't allow the return." Basically anything to not assist me. Unprofessional, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. This was a terrible experience and a huge disappointment. GameStop really needs to get it together especially this location read more

Today is a big launch day for two major games. I called the store over 2 dozen times to make sure they had the games available. No one ever answered the phone. Not even once. Not here or at the bay terrace location. I went to the store and there was a total of one employee working in the entire store. While I waited in line for a customer to very, very slowly articulate what they wanted, I continued to call the store, just to hear the phone ring inside the store. However, this location has the ringer completely silenced. So the employees are never aware of whether a call is coming in or not. I get the employees aren't treated well here. But is answering the phone now too much to ask? Especially during off peak hours ? read more

Worst business you could visit. 4 employees took 25 minutes to help one customer. So a like of 4 people took over an hour to help. Been here twice and it was the same incompetence both times. Go anywhere else read more

Dont even know why this location is still open. the staff at this location couldn't give less of an F, They chill in the back all day, they ignore the phones so they don't have to answer any calls and take 2-3 hour breaks where they close the whole store down. Its like they're just getting paid to do nothing and hang out in there. I was confused as to why no one answers the phone when i got there i stood outside the store & called and watched them walk by the phone like it wasn't even ringing. This place is a joke no wonder gamestop is shutting down. read more

Recently went in to purchase two controllers that were on sale. I went in to purchase them and the employee there Brian (692116) had a horrible face and horrible attitude to start off the interaction. I asked if he could bring them down and he looked annoyed. He took them down and asked for a number so I gave him my brothers. He said I couldn't purchase it because my brother made too many purchases yesterday. I think he wanted those controllers for himself because he grabbed the other one and hid both of them behind the cash register. Employees are now hiding products from customers for themselves while on the clock is crazy ! Customer service was horrible. read more

Terrible GameStop!! As the newest Pokemon games just dropped, this store's employees did not properly promote the game and its preorder system when I called the store to confirm instructions on how to order the games. The employees provided misinformation regarding the preorder which caused a lot of confusion for me; the employees were also rude and the store was cluttered a few days ago when I went there. Unfortunate that GameStop often gets the recognition that the game franchise itself is responsible for, when GameStop itself is extremely bad in service and also does not hire intelligent people who make sure to learn promotions, products, and vital information. It should not be a customer's job to teach an employee what a power adapter or a specific charger is. read more

This is such a hard review to write. This specific Gamestop is at such a nice location. It is extremely calm and quiet. There are a few nearby stores that make this place active. All of which are within walking distance, or up the block. Plus there is a movie theater across the street. It just can't be beat. This location gets 4 stores for the fact people can come in and buy video games instantly. No need to shop online, and gamers get instant gratification. The 1 star and problem i have with the store is the employees. They are not very helpful, and seem extremely unengaged. I couldn't imagine being an employee here and being an MWE (Minimum Wage Earner). I guess you get what you paid for. Additionally, the 1 star is because of their inventory. This is the heart of the 1 star review. Every time I find something for $20.00, it magically is always the last item in stock. Really? Suspect much? You know what this means? Yes, the cashier gives me an open game. Their response is always: It is NOT used. It was just opened and used for display purposes. It is the last one we have in stock. We don't not have any additional copies in stock. Always the same robotic responses. If that is the case, then the game should be $5.00. This is why i always buy online because i am always disappointed every time i come in here. I don't want to do it to myself anymore. To add insult to injury, after i buy the open game and walk out the store, the cashier puts the same item back on the shelf to use the same response on the next victim. I looked through the window, stared at the cashier, and confirmed this has happened repeatedly. Just tragic. Their corporate offices must not care because you would think with all the 1 star Yelp reviews, they would try and save these franchise stores before it truly goes under. I really have no idea how much longer this store will be open before closing for good. This will put tons of people outta work, and kill the already dying in-person retail economy. The only plus is the Haagen Daz ice cream store is right next door. I go there religiously for a large quart of ice cream every time the cashier says: Last item. Open box and no more copies in stock. Take it, or leave it. You know what, i'll take the ice cream next door instead. BYE FELICIA! read more

I called for a controller because the kids needed a new one. Many stores were out if stock but the place in garden city has some in stock. We rushed over to retrieve the one that was set aside but at the same time we were told that it may be sold via online purchase. Thanks for the great and satisfying service. read more

By far the worst GameStop experience I ever had. Refused to help after they messed up on there end. Super unprofessional. DO NOT GO HERE.

Probably the WORST Gamestop is the entire USA. Super shady employees adding WARRANTY to a god damn VIDEO GAME without even asking. The prices are also higher than the ones advertised online and was told if I "priced matched", then I can't use my Gamestop Pro Rewards Certificate - FULL OF SH*T. They just like to make up their own rules here and like to overcharge their customers. NEVER GOING HERE AGAIN. Will probably close down soon unless they get new management and employees. read more

I stop by this place around 6:15ish today. This place is god awful. All three staff there are standing around and doing nothing at all. They are on their phone and having laugh. They aren't even approaching customers to ask them if they needed helps or not, despite's there are four or five customers there includes myself. I am looking for a game and approach the female staff. She looks at me and doesn't know the game that I was asking. She doesn't even bother to look it up and has to ask another staff there if they had the game or not. It is so rude for not even to smile and ignore me to pass me along to her colleague for any additional questions that I had. This is part of reasons for people don't want to come to gamestop anymore. read more

Tell me why in the middle of this ho trying to help me out she gown into her phone to text her friend. I don't know what's worst the people who work here or the people who hire them. This location has so many bad reviews and it's still around. Someone need to open up another game store. read more

They never pick up their goddamned phones. I have been trying since 4pm today (Nov 2 2019) and its now 5:,25 pm A cashier didn't redeem my pts, he didn't put my copy of Devil May Cry 5 in its case and he sold me a scratched copy of Diablo III Eternal Collection. I went there with friends to get some gaming gear. We bought a mouse but when I got home it was broken and shattered. When I tried to get a refund she said we can't get a refund because the seal was broken. how were we suppose to know if the product is broken if we don't open it. she Said we needed to buy the warrant to get it returned. when we bought it there was a random free. Terrible place won't go back ever again read more

Buyer beware, the employees always add a warranty to your purchase with out asking! The worst is the manager ashley, shell charge you multiple warranties. Ive called corporate so many times on her. A shame she still works there. FYI you can go back to the store and demand a refund on the warranty! Go to Bay Terrace, way friendlier and HONEST Update 8/21/2018 to my knowledge its not a training location... its manager ashley is the one with these unethical practices and it trickles down from there. i just picked up a preorder and as she came out of the back she shoved it into a bag... turns out it was the wrong system she was handing me. im sick and tired of this gamestop. i never have a pleasant experience here no matter how many chances i give them. i shouldnt have to call corporate every time i visit for the same people and see them still work there after direct violations of gamestop employee policies read more

All GameStop's should be renamed "Used Sh!+ Stop" cause they love labeling things as "NEW" even when they're not factory sealed. That's immoral, unethical, and a flat-out opposite of the definition of the word "new." *This is a critism of ALL GameStop's not just this location. And their business model, I don't mind that they make a profit on the reselling of games. But, specifically the labeling of "NEW" for products that clearly aren't. read more

Avoid this location I would have left if my son really didn't want some new game that came out we walked in and it's your average game stop wasn't busy just one person online there was about 4 or 5 people behind the counter one was the manager they were just hanging out. When we got to the register and we asked for the game Julian the young man got the game for us and told us the game comes with an included warranty when he told us the price after tax was about $70 on a $60 game I asked why he stated the warranty was an extra fee don't tell a customer that a game comes with something and then charge extra for it when the customer never agreed to it. It seems this is there way of operating when I told him he was a scammer Julian could only put his head down and not say anything. It's not about the extra few dollars but don't say it comes With it and make it seem it's included in the original price and then try to charge extra for something the manager walked away when I called him a scammer. Avoid this location who knows how many unknowing customers have gotten charged extra for something they though came with the game If real upper management reads this review you guys need to really clean house and put some more professional staff here read more

Please look at all the recent reviews. You MUST check on what they're charging you when you check out. They attempt to add the warranty without asking if you want it. Which is I believe is illegal and is definitely unethical. Also, I was waiting in line, and this guy ran in and the guy at the register helped him first. I heard them talking and apparently this location is a training location. So if you get bad service elsewhere, you know why now. read more

They never pick up their phone that I had to drive there to see if they had what I was looking for in stock. There was only one employee inside and after being ignored twice when I spoke to her, she finally gave me an annoyed look and told me to look at the corner for what I wanted. I went to where she pointed tilted her head at and not to my surprise there was absolutely nothing there.... The employees don't give a rat's *** about you, they seem jaded and just there to pick up their checks. What a sour place to be at, even the air stank of rudeness. Was in and out within 3 minutes and will never return. read more

Sneaky sneaky sneaky, they ring up a game warranty without your permission; if you don't notice it, there's no way to get your money back for it once you've opened the game. 2nd time this guy tried to pull it, nice try but nope, Not falling for that again read more

Unfortunately, the bad outweighs the good with this visit. I didn't notice these problems until I got home, so I'll only be returning to try and correct these. On the receipt the guy charged me for a warranty on each item, but never even mentioned it to me, nor are there any signs around stating anything regarding an automatic charge for warranties. Being charged for something you didn't authorize is illegal and if they don't refund me at store level at my return visit, I'm contacting their corporate and then Better business Bureau. Second, they gave me a used copy of super paper Mario for wii in the WORST condition! It has a deep scratch along with a ton of surface scratches. I've never been given such a garbage copy of a game before. I haven't been to game stop in years and don't plan to return after my follow up visit. I'd avoid this place and just stick to ordering from alternative online sources. I'd rather wait than have to deal with this again, making unnecessary trips. read more

Been shopping here for 10-ish years. From the other reviews it sounds like I have been extremely lucky. I've generally been in and out of this place fast and with no problems. The used games have always been in good condition. Reason it gets 3 stars is because of the customer service, like I said, I generally had no problems, but when there is one its really annoying. I don't care if the used copy in $5 cheaper, no reason to bring it up again 4 more times after I declined. read more

They always try to add game warranty when im not looking but i always catch them before finalizing my transaction. Also a few months back they went to town with my rewards points WHEN I WASNT EVEN IN THE STORE !! I went nuts calling corporate and even went to the district manager trying to get someone fired. The store manager acted like it was no big deal. Imagine if this was a credit card saved to your account it is a big deal. I was scammed and now the people are asking i renew my membership with my points.. i have 9 months left wtf.. leave my points alone read more

I went to take the buy 2 get one free preowned items deal. We went up to the register with 6 games and they only had 2 of them available. 2 out of 6. We had to wait at the register and hold up the line while looking for 4 more games to replace them. After that, I went to buy a game and went home just to find out that they didn't give me the game, but instead they gave me the little game package that they leave on the wall, which was 100% empty. I decided to call to see if I could switch it before putting in the time to go to the store, but nobody even picked up the phone. I ended up having to resolve the problem caused at this gamestop at a different location. Waste of my time. read more

The team member were very rude and unprofessional. When I told him that I want to buy the PS4 Bundle, he gave me the PS4 Pro instead. I told him that I did not want the one and I need to change it into the bundle. He said that "I cannot give you money back, I can just give you the gift card with 100+ dollar". WTF?! I paid my money and GameStop can just give me gift card back? He also added the 24.99 survey by himself, even after I told him that I would not like to return to the US in one year. That's so funny. I would like to tell all my friends not to go to Gamestop to buy anything, but go to Walmart instead. I will also post this to Yelp. Thank you for giving me such experience. read more

Worst GameStop I've ever been to. Can't even return a BROKEN item that I bought BROKEN!

Walked in at 8:15pm, employee tried to tell me the store closed at 7. I walked over to the door that showed their store hours, looked at the part where it says "Monday-Saturday 10:00am-9:00pm" looked at the employee shook my head and walked away quietly. I have been going to Gamestop for many years and I'm a Power Up Rewards member. I went to this location a couple of times over the last 4 days and had a great experience every time even when it was extremely busy. I went in today to take advantage of the buy 2 get one free preowned items. I walked in at 7:45pm and was very happy to see there were still open. I wanted to buy 2 Xbox One and 1 PS4 and again was happy to see they were available. Everyone there, including the manager, helped me and they were all very informative and professional. I see that there are many negative comments for this location but I think it's because many people, like myself, use the www.TellGameStop.com to post there positive reviews. I have always had a positive experience at this location but have never thought to post it using Yelp. Today I will leave positive reviews on both Yelp & www.TellGameStop.com. I recommend that everyone in the area and beyond go to this location for the people who work there and also that there is a huge parking lot you can use instead of looking for parking like some other GameStop locations. read more

I placed a game on hold at 10:30 am received the processing email and the confirmation email that they had my game set aside waiting for me to pick up. Completely Disgusted by the customer service at this game stop. me and a friend entered this gamestop because i wanted to change my Christmas present which was a preorder to another game, and was met with condescending and snarky comments from who i believed was the store manager (ashley). This was friends second time dealing with gamestop and he was unaware of the customs when it came to preorders and how to verify who the name was under. Ashley felt the need to make passive aggressive comments towards my friend for his little knowledge of how gamestop is run. This isn't a one bad day kind of thing because she was my cashier at the lake success gamestop a couple years ago(2012 i believe). I will not be dealing with this gamestop and im advising everyone including my friends and family that if there is any other gamestop near you go that one because this is unacceptable from a store manager. ive given this gamestop 2 stars due to the fact that i was able to get in and out.
