Avoid this location at all costs. And I don't mean because it's GameStop, which is bad enough, but because THIS location is a NIGHTMARE. This was my experience today: They are limiting people to ten or so in the store. That's fine, that's not on them. So there was a huge line. There was a greeter there whose job it was to check on the customers waiting in the line. He asks what they are looking for, presumably to expedite this excruciating process. I asked for a copy of AC: Valhalla. The greeter assured me that they had it. A 20-minute wait in line, I grab my game. And immediately I am brought to a stop. This GameStop location has only one cashier open at all times. Which would be fine...except for the woman behind the counter not only trying to upsell everything in the store that wasn't nailed down, but making chit chat with the customer and keeping the rest of us waiting. 25-minute wait before one of the other clerks had the clear idea to get the game I had picked out, out of the back. And came back empty-handed. They did NOT in fact have AC:Valhalla *despite all the assurances from the greeter it was in stock*. And the whole reason they do this (display games they don't have in stock) is that they're perfectly content to waste your time as they assure you they can order for you. I don't know how much of this is workers enforcing the corporate policy and how much is incompetence on behalf of the greeter but a 45-minute wait to come out of a store empty-handed when it would have taken the greeter a moment to ask the OTHER cashier, who had nothing to do because of the covid policy, to check the back for the game. But no, they chose to waste my time in the hopes that they could still make a sale by assuring me goods that they DID NOT HAVE. I am never setting foot in that place again TL;dr: Dishonesty and incompetence dominated this shopping experience making what should have been a routine errand a nightmare *Zero* stars. read more

I would do less than one star if it was possible. Today august 21st 2021 I went and purchased a Magic The Gathering Modern Horizens 2 Fat pack as well as a Triple booster pack of the same set. I opened the triple booster pack and was very happy with my pulls.... However, when I opened my fat pack to my complete disbelief, I did not get one single rare card (which is GUARANTEED at least one in every booster pack and a fatpack contains 10). Upon my intense fury I tried my absolute hardest to call respectively because although this is a BLATANTLY TAMPERED with fatpack I don't know for a fact that either individual working is the tamperer... I proceeded to get the run around and a million sorry but tough shits as well as contact the manufacturer... AFTER A $100 PURCHASE SOLD AT THEIR STORE TURNED OUT TO NOT BE WHAT IT WAS ADVERTISED FOR!!!! So I strongly recommend purchasing from reliable trustworthy retailers because CLEARLY. GameStop but more specifically this GameStop cannot be trusted because people of theirs are stealing merchandise and repackaging random bullshit from fucking years ago!!! read more

These associates need a little workshop in customer service. Came in to pick up a preorder and were told we need to "finalize" the order before we can have the game. Excuse me? We need to "finalize" an order that have already been paid for in full just to get the game. What do you think we're going to do? Run away with it? First of all, if we never finished paying for it, we won't even get the game. Rich is by far the biggest jerk and his rude attitude towards customers need to change. He snatched the receipt out of my boyfriend's hand thinking he was going to refuse to let us have our preorder. Of all the GameStop I have ever been to, this is the worst. Would give it 3.5 stars if I could. If given the choice between the South Shore Plaza locations and here, I definitely chose here. Fewer screaming children, more attentive staff. Not as big of a selection though, but fun to browse through every few weeks. The staff always knows the answers to my questions, and doesn't try to hard sell me on new (or pre-release) games. All in all, one of the better Gamestops in the area. read more

I went here on Friday Oct 16th about 2:15 in the afternoon to pick up a game that I had seen when I came in eairler in the morning. I was greeted but a girl in red hair and she said sorry but we are closed right now for lunch and will be back in 45 minutes.....WHAT really???????? I was dumbfounded when she said this.....first of all there where two workers working in the store so why do both of them need to go on break at the same time for 45 minutes.....I stood around for a few minutes as they closed the doors and shut off the store lights making the store look closed for good, the sigh didn't say what time they would be back just a hand written sign that said OUT TO LUNCH BACK IN 45..... So how is a customer suppose to know when to come back with no time on the paper. A side note after they left a FEDEX man showed up with a 6 to 7 foot cart of merchandise and just stood there confused reading the OUT TO LUNCH sign......I know FEDEX and I know it cost the company (Game stop) money for them to come back. Good customer service here. They seem to really know their stuff when it comes to all things video games. They have a great selection of new and used games and will buy your gently used games to resell and give you points to exchange for new games. I have preordered games that were going to sell out and it made the process of picking up a popular game o release day much easier than it would have been otherwise. read more

Whoa! What's with all the bashing of the workers here! I went in yesterday to buy a used Wii because mine stopped reading my discs this weekend and I got the most amazing customer service guy! He was a total help. I think I can actually just get mine fixed. He gave me a name of a person who can fix it. IF not I'm going to go back and buy a used one. Where should I start Bought a used 119.00 iPod 4th gen from here and turned up to be a defect... WiFi did not work on it and the screen was so sensitive it would go crazy... Might I add.. called an hr later to see what they could do..they told me to come in the next day ..so I did..brought it back and the employer wanted to give me a refund... But I wanted another iPod..but that they weren't trying to give me one and told me there is nothing they could do ...and basically told me to go to another gamestop in the area of Braintree to swap it out ...mind you they had a full case of other used iPods ...smh My thing is ,GAMESTOP ... CHECK YOUR USED PRODUCTS TO ACTUALLY SEE IF YOU CAN RE-SELL THE PRODUCT TO A CUSTOMER ..HAVING TO GO BACK FOR AN ISSUE YOUR "TEAM" SHOULD HAVE POINTED OUT, ISN'T COOL WHAT'S SO EVER ....
