Visited from out of town- definitely one of the nicest LGS I've been to. Smells good, nice variety of board and tabletop games to buy, MTG priced very fairly (I believe he said 10% below TCG market price for singles) and large selection of playmats compared to most places. Enjoyed that they had a clearance section for old editions of games. Layout was nice and the staff was great! read more

Great store with an excellent selection of Magic the Gathering singles and sealed product. They have a good selection of board games as well as other tabletop games. Staff is nice and is willing to help you out and is the best place in town to play competitive magic the gathering. read more

Gamers Guild specializes in collectible card games, board games, RPGs, and miniatures games. We have a huge selection of games and Magic singles and host events nearly everyday. Come by to learn a new game or to play your favorites. It is always our primary goal to build a great community of gamers and we'd love to have the chance to make you a part of it.

History

Established in 1990.

Gamers Guild was established in 1990 (then Card Avenue). Originally a sports card and collectible store, Card Avenue bought in hard on the Magic, Warhammer, and Pokemon explosions and become one of North Carolina's earliest gaming venues. The name was changed to Gamers Guild to reflect the store's dedication to gamers and gaming and that remains the store's primary focus today.

Meet the Business Owner: Garrett S.

Garrett is a Fayetteville native and has been a part of the gaming community in this area for over 20 years. He began playing Magic in 1995 at several area stores. This led to forays into the competitive circuit for Magic, Pokemon, and other games. He began running tournaments for Gamers Guild in 1999. In 2001, Garrett began working at Gamers Guild. In 2006, he bought the business and moved it to it's current location. Each year since, the business has grown and it's Garrett's goal to become an even bigger part of the community at large.

So dropped off a few books to see how much I'd get for them, I'm not in dire need of money just…read morebooks other people can enjoy that I'm willing to part way with, and not sure who or what priced them but I use cover price which uses active market value for the book based off purchases made online and these guys offer a outrageous low ball number like trying to steal from me lowball number. I didn't make the deal and I will never do business with them again besides their over pricing on older books in rough condition this was the turning point for me. For those that want to know I had a raw asm300, 2 cgc books 8.5/9.8, and a 10 CBCS signed.

He Didn't even try to give me something to try and use or any ideas to try and help. Part of the job is educating the customer. Not saying "nope everything is pretty brand specific" and sending me to amazon. The only reason someone would come in to a shop instead of using youtube/amazon is to get help from an actual human. And with the lack of customer service i just received I'm not shocked hobby stores are going out of business. DO BETTER
