Around 2017, I purchased several fake Gameboy Advance cartridges from this seller without being informed that they were reproductions. To be fair, I should have been more attentive, although it's completely inappropriate to sell counterfeit cartridges as if they were legitimate retro hardware. The prices were also inflated; for example, I paid $34.99 each for two copies of Pokemon FireRed, when the going rate for an authentic, out-of-box copy at the time was about $20 (according to PriceCharting). One of the FireRed cartridges turned out to be fake and other was real. Another cartridge they sold me was Final Fantasy IV, which I later discovered was fake. Unfortunately, the FFIV cartridge doesn't save any game progress. I'm not sure if they're still selling fake GBA cartridges as authentic, and while it's possible they didn't realize the difference, it's still disappointing. They did manage to sell me an authentic copy of Castlevania Aria of Sorrow though, so it seems to be hit-or-miss. I'm still on the lookout for a reliable retro games shop in MN that sells authentic GBA cartridges. I won't be returning to this seller due to the previous disappointing experience. read more

Gamerheadz is a gimmick. Most of the games were overpriced. The whole point of Gamerheadz is try to appeal to 30-40 year old men who want to play the games from their youth. They had a few displays. (DDR, Some PS3 racing game) Most of them didn't work, and no workers attempted to help. I did a test with only one game. It cost $9 in store. I looked on Amazon and it was $2.46. I DO believe that the people who work and run the store do have a passion for video games and retro games, but there is definite work there needs to be done. In my opinion - I would much rather go to GameStop for current games or common games you can find anywhere, but if you are looking for old/rare/retro games. I've been a frequent to this store for years now, and it's still one of the better retro game stores in Minnesota, it's a small business so the fact that it made it through the brunt of Covid says a lot about it's customer retention. Staff on average tend to be both friendly, and helpful. Prices are just on the better side with them meeting the median only if they are extremely rare. The trade in situation is unfortunate, since this is a small business there is not enough operating income to deal with the foot traffic of trade ins that come in. The things to do in the store are pretty solid as well with what equates to a micro arcade where one can further engage in their nostalgia. The owner is a very relaxed relatively business minded person. Some criticisms I have include the location changes have made it a little harder to find in the mall,, the lack of community based events that used to be frequent. Owner rips off people. Games you get barely ever work. He's rude he opens up later then his store hours say. On top of that he's never in there when your looking to go. Plus he kicks ppl out if he thinks they stole something when his cameras don't even work in his store. I would recommend bringing your stuff to Gamestop or buy stuff its almost always works. read more

Staff was very helpful. Pretty good selection of older games and systems. Highly recommended if you're looking for older games.

Store is still growing so inventory is low but you can tell this is a store that was built for people who genuinely love games. Whether you're looking for fun, chilling, or seeking down old games the store owner is happy to help. Friendly and chill. Lots of old gems in there and clean design. I enjoy looking in this place vs other stores cuz the owner makes you feel welcome, a lot of others (Mr Zero's in particular) give you an attitude and are snobby.
