Sorry, but F these assholes. Gamedude are a great example of why a business with better customer service will always win. Gamedude are from what I'd dub as the old-school style of PC service. They're arrogant, self-righteous and smug to anyone who has any question about computers. I'm fortunate enough to know what I need, but I've witnessed people who have waited in a queue for over half-an-hour ask questions that get a shrug or a 'well you should've known about that' sort of response. Gamedude primarily service people looking to build PCs, so their clientele are often people adept at knowing the difference between SATA drives and IDE. While it doesn't give them the right for their 'customer service people' to act like brats, it does speak volumes of the types of people they want. Their prices ARE damn good, though, so if you know what you need and you don't mind waiting at peak periods (Saturday morning, for example) then go nuts. Maybe it's that I always walk in knowing exactly what I want whether its a part or a custom made pc but I have always found the Gamedude folks to be polite and friendly. A huge plus is that when I go in with my husband and talk to them about choosing a component they answer me and not him. Gamedude also knows at any given time their entire inventory so you can call and ask if they have something in and they will know not only yes or no but how many. Systems are cheap and backed with an onsite warrenty. Be warned though getting something repaired can take weeks as they have a lot of work go through their shop read more

Gamedude is the worst retail experience I've ever had. They sold me a counterfeit product and wanted me to pay a large fee for a return. There's a reason they no longer sell on Ebay, and a reason they don't take credit cards, because you'd get a refund. Never got my money back. Even when you shove evidence under there nose and they finally admit it's an inferior product with fake branding, they still won't give a refund. After looking them up on forums, they have a long history of petty court cases with customers. It's not just the fact they rip you off but the attitude they give as if you are in the wrong even when you have proof beyond any doubt. read more

LEASE READ ALL BEFORE BUYING. Modern day pirates! Bought a 1000 dollar pc on saturday 14th nov with pre installed software and a 24 month warranty. Upon taking it out of the box and turning it on it was playing up. so took it back on tuesday, only to be told it is a software issue! THEY installed the software as purchased yet i am meant to pay 120 service fee 3 days later! wont even tell you what the issue with their installed software is unless you pay them 120!! steer clear of this mob folks. 3 weeks after fair trading got involved surprise surprise gamedude all of a sudden acknowledges a compatability issue with  "one of out best selling units" and they can easily fix with a firmware upgrade. Now why could this not be done 3 weeks ago without a 120 fee?. Then spoke with nate the supposed manager and what a joke!!! customer service is better from a Indian call center. It's shops like this that make online shopping the future. Bought a Seagate 1tb barracuda sata 3. In 6 days of having it, disaster struck and it died. I contacted the warranty department at Gamedude and they said bring it in. After a quick 2 minute test, they happily replaced with a new drive. I also had the same situation when they were a small back alley store in Rochdale, back in the day. I had a cdrom drive die, and had it replaced without fuss. read more

Totally agree with previous comment. Bought 4 gig ram, 2 different brands, told us that would be OK not to be a matched pair. .Packaging was hand-written in texta and appeared to be second-hand anyway. When we tried for a refund, they insisted on 15% re-stocking fee. That $6 they charged us has cost them a lot more business than that. Far better to buy from e-bay. read more

If you are going to buy from these guys make sure you go to the shop and buy something that is factory SEALED!! If you buy off line its probably 85% going to be not in stock (even though it says instock on the site) and then you have to wait weeks for the product you ordered. Well that our they offer you some other crap they have lying around and then tell you you can spend the difference in store credit. Seriously do yourself a favor and buy somewhere else. read more

if i could give minus star i would this the worst computer shop ever!!!! they lie about products, and put comments on my receipt without telling me, such as, this cannot be returned. wtf, under consumer law this is crime. bought a new laptop trusting it is ok but it is not! it is slow as snail can't even run explorer on it. a new computer and you can't return wtf!!!i i even payed extra and the new machine is total garbage so for $500 lap top i can't even use it to open explorer. terrible service and sales read more

I have brought from this mob a sum total of three times. Every time a swear I will never buy from them again. Then, in an eager haste I think "argh, they weren't that bad really" and place an order. It doesn't take long for me to regret my decision as I am forced to suffer their apathetic incompetence once more. Whether you're picking up in store or having your items freighted, GameDude will guarantee that you have a terrible experience. From taking the order to receiving payment to shipping they will make a balls-up of your order from start to finish. Lying, arrogant and thieves. They took payment from my credit card for stock they never had and rang me to tell me they did not have stock. When I told them I was not willing to buy their substitute they asked me to send an email to cancel the order. I asked for a refund saying there is nothing to cancel, they just do not have the stock. However was told I needed to send them an email for a refund. These f***wits used my money for 11 days. Corporate sin. These people should not be in business. read more

An item malfunctioned after a couple of weeks of use, instead of getting the faulty item sent off to get checked over under warranty, they told me that I must have either installed a cable incorrectly or overloaded it by running 2 gpu's via a splitter, which I did not. The only solution offered to me was to buy a new (second hand I assume as I later found out that they aren't sold individually) cable. Another couple of weeks pass and a second fault arises, possibly related to the first fault. Gamedude still insist that the item could not possibly be faulty, because it was made in a factory apparently. So unless I pursue this through the ACCC, I have nothing but an expensive paperweight. After visiting a more reputable computer shop, I explained my situation to the customer service assistant, he rolled his eyes at the mere mention of gamedude, and agreed that the item should have been sent off to be checked under warranty after the first incident. Avoid Gamedude at all costs, there are much better computer shops out there. read more
