On the way up they take your picture for you to be magically placed in a spacesuit to buy at the end. And yes I totally bought the one of my kid because he is adorable. This ride is wheelchair accessible but you need to transfer. The interactive bits at the end are a lot of fun for kids to simulate space missions but this time a lot of them were out of order. Bummer. This is a great experience not to be missed however!

But their Shuttle Launch Experience is a great simulator-style ride! As the name implies, the Shuttle Launch Experience simulates what an STS crew experienced for the first few minutes of a launch. Though this ride is exciting and a bit rough, I'm sure it's not as intense as an actual shuttle launch with 14,000,000+ pounds of thrust. From the twang to max Q, this simulation is a lot of fun! I also appreciate how informative & educational the experience is. Because, of course, this is KSCVC. Charlie Bolden, astronaut & former NASA Administrator, explains every step of the launch with his very comfortable demeanor (I've heard him speak in person twice - he's really that relatable); he offers a wealth of knowledge! So much detail that I pick up new things from his narrative each time I ride. The Shuttle Launch Experience is one of the attractions I try to enjoy on every visit to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Center. Lockers are provided to store stuff during the ride. And, BONUS - they're free for a couple of hours. There's really no excuse to miss this unique simulator ride!

Obviously the system they're so stuck on isn't as great as actual communication... so I contacted Mario again (who was never what I'd call either polite or rude, just kind of bored and indifferent) and they finally sent an invoice with the time window and length of party I had requested. Arrived on time the day of, and set things up as we had discussed. (The reasons for 2 stars). The kids were on the truck playing games and I was sitting in the shade at the picnic table with the other parents and after 2-3 hours Mario approached and said they'll be packing up soon as they have another party after us and could I pay now. I was a little taken aback as I had paid half the total as a deposit for a 4 hour party. So I "asked" him hadn't I scheduled 4 hours? He said no. Now, beginning to get a little perturbed I told him "yes sir, actually I did", and also reminded him I specified the arrival and departure time. He proceeded to argue with me, in front of all the other parents mind you, that I was wrong and they had another party to get to. All I could say was "you need to look at your invoice" after a few minutes he stormed away with the look in his eye of "OK buddy, I'll SHOW you you're wrong". Two minutes later he walked back up to the table and just said "I'll tell the crew we're leaving at 5". No apology or my mistake, you were right. So now I'm wondering just what kind of business is he running here. I entered the truck and saw all the TVs filled, but one of my son's guests playing on her phone... which didn't add up. We had invited the number of guests based on the number of TVs he supplied. So I asked my son to identify his guests and it turned out Mario had brought some kid with him, that had taken up one of the TVs for the whole three hours they had been there (so far). When I politely mentioned to the crew (which was difficult as I was fairly pissed off at that point) that I had guests who weren't able to play and this kid who was not a guest was taking up a TV, they just said "yeah, he knows to get off if someone needs the station"; But did nothing... I had to say to the boy myself: "hey I'm sorry, but I'd like my guests to get to use the game truck that I'm renting" and he did, at that point, (with 25% of the party left) relinquish the TV. I had fed the crew pizza, offered them cake, and (even after all the frustration) sent them off with a tip... Even though I felt I didn't even REALLY get what I had contracted in my opinion. Two stars for showing up on time. Kinda generous, in my opinion, all things considered. I do not recommend. Upon seeing this review, Mario texted my personal cell with the message below. Obviously a class act. You want this guy around your kids? Not me. Reduced review to one star.

The kids were disappointed when the badges they were making were just a picture of a cartoon policeman the colored and bring it to the front and they made it into a pin. They should look like a badge. They do have a few games, but you better bring quarters because you need to pay for them. The volunteers were very nice, but they don't have any guides to describe what you're looking at and that would've made it much better trip for the kids. They really need a lot more space and a lot more material. The best and worst part the memorial wall with the names of all fallen officers since 1960 and the statues Displays accompanying it. My child and I did go in and say a prayer. I wish they had pictures or a garden for fallen dog officers. We will return and update our review when all of the phases of this property are complete because they are supposed to be adding three or four additional buildings and that may change things. The eternal flame should be pretty spectacular.

Along with a shooting range and training academy, the APHOF showcases the history of police while honoring those who walked the Thin Blue Line. To be fair, the museum is not the biggest in size but it packs a lot in its small space just like the Veterans Museum in Merritt Island does. Going counter-clockwise, you'll learn the history of police and law enforcement over the centuries including the 1600s to 1800s which used stocks to today which uses our more modern means. You'll also learn about different branches of police like the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Protection Service and many others. I definitely enjoyed sitting in the boat for Police Coast Patrol. The center of the museum is a memorial to police officers who died during duty. It is filled with many flowers and pictures from families who want to remember and honor their fallen loved ones. There is also a chapel which possibly does services or memorials. Ultimately, this is one nice museum and a definite must-visit for those who respect the Thin Blue Line. Only issue I have is the entry fees not being readily available for everyone to see. We found out about the price of admission when we got there. Still, the APHOF should at least be visited once if you live on the Space Coast. And if you're someone who belives in the 2nd and shoots guns, they also have a shooting range too.

This particular day we had to ask an associate for the kid boxes and there was no employee taking our tickets. When the movie started I decided an adult beverage sounded good. There was no one at the bar but the manager gladly took over and got our drinks. He ensured my rewards were accounted for as well. Normally not having employees everywhere might upset some but it was morning time on a Saturday and I kinda prefer less contact. The movie theater was very clean. The sound and visuals were great.
