I was in a scramble . My husband and I lived in Georgia and my husband had gotten arrested for something in New Jersey from 3 years prior . Attorney is not always available and when he is, you sense that you are wasting his time. Attorney lacks detail and does not complete tasks effectively. For example, we had two witnesses that were willing to testify. The attorney knew this but it wasn't until we "refreshed" his memory that he said he wanted to speak to them. Additionally, when interviewing the witnesses, he did not inform them when and where to go for the hearing. All of this follow-up was done by his clients. Furthermore, he didn't apprise us of what to expect prior to hearings. Every time we had to ask him these relatively simple questions, and he always seemed bothered by them. The relationship culminated with a very provocative phone call from the attorney after the proceedings were finished. Earlier that day, we had spoken on the phone and I asked for an itemized invoice of work performed, which most attorneys do and rightfully so to keep track of their hours. The attorney said that he would send a letter to us with this information. Not five minutes later, he calls back fuming, angry, saying that we did not appreciate the work he did and that had it not been for him, we would have faced extreme consequences. His return phone call was charged with fury and was extremely unprofessional. We, new to the criminal system, were completely reliant on his expertise on the process. It wasn't until that phone call that we were able to see that any and all questions we had asked regarding the process, he mistook them as us doubting his ability to perform at his job. I was literally unable to answer him on the phone due to his forceful tone, attitude and my utter shock at how he chose to end our business relationship. From this, we can assume that he did not keep track of his hours of work and this was his way of getting out of doing something he did not want to do. I do not recommend this attorney to anyone. Very unprofessional, highly sensitized, and not client-oriented in any sense of the word. read more
