I have been going here recently because…read moremy regular GP moved from the Broadway Medical Centre into this centre along with all the other practitioners that were there. My doctor is an amazing practitioner, having seen me through the ailments of childhood with my girls when they were young right through to present time. His name is Dr David Hughes and he is the most knowledgeable GP I have ever come across. He is also warm and understanding and not patronising in any way, unlike some other practitioners. I can also recommend Dr Balkwill. However, be warned, I did experience one of the worst doctors here also. I cant remember his name but he was involved in the travel clinic. As a medical centre it provides many services and doctors. The travel clinic is here to give medical advice on travelling and vaccinations. It is a very busy centre and you are often put on hold when you ring them. The receptionists are pleasant enough and the clinic is spacious and utiilitarian. Appointments are pretty much on schedule which is a credit to a busy practice.

The doctor here was very friendly and I was seen immediately. He checked my weight, blood pressure and had a good chat about my health in general and any conditions I have. He then booked me in for a ADT shot (tetanus prevention), which I received in another 5 minutes and after all that, bulk billed me, so I paid nothing. The other staff were also very friendly and willing to have a bit of a conversation which I enjoy when I'm getting needles stabbed into my arm.

I had with me a 4yr old and it was difficult driving with a tea-towel wrapped around my hand to stop the blood flow. The receptionist called 2 doctors to see if they'd see a "walk-in" and both said no and told me to go to ER (there were no other patients waiting). With all the advertising to see you GP rather than go to the ER if it's not a life-threatening event, these doctors are pushing patients into ER when they are quite capable of stitching a minor cut that just needs a few stitches. 12 Months ago they also turned my daughter away when her then 3 year was sick. This is a terrible practice. I am only giving one star as that is the lowest score I can give.

Thankfully, they're pretty incredible. If you've been struggling to find the right doctor to deal with anything related to women's health, I recommend giving these guys a go. Friendly, helpful, and non-judgemental. There is a real focus on getting to the bottom of whatever issues you're having, rather than just prescribing something and sending you on your way. There's a pathology clinic and a medical imaging clinic in the same building, and often if you get sent off for tests you can get everything squeezed into the same day. The only downside is the fees. Make sure you call them up and ask about their fee structure before your appointment.

He is also very caring, compassionate and very dedicated to his patients! A friend of mine recommended him to me when I was diagnosed with breast cancer for the first time and he scheduled my first consult with him very quickly & on a public holiday.... dedication! When I was diagnosed with bc for the second time, naturally I stayed with him. His surgical skills are amazing, my scars from 2 breast cancer surgeries are fantastic, hardly visable at all. I've been a patient now since 2009 & wouldnt ever go to anyone else. His staff are always extremely friendly, caring & compassionate and are also highly efficient in their duties. I very highly recommend Dr Kollias.

First of all the waiting room is pokey and small and was 90% most of the time I was there. Secondly, although I had an appointment and arrived about 2 minutes early I was left to wait an extraordinary amount of time. After 45 minutes I went up to ask the receptionist when I was going to be let in and she could give me no indication. When I finally did get in to see a doctor I was a little underwhelmed. The service was thorough to say the least, which is a good thing but I did sort of feel like I was being talked at like a five year old which I found terribly condescending.

It's thoughtfully laid out, the five consultant rooms join directly to the waiting room; when your name's called, you enter a room that already has a doctor in it. It's easy to get the impression that Globe Medical is only for students and/or travelers. Wrong! Their GP services include: women's and corporate health, vaccinations, skin care services and general appointments. I've seen Dr Chris Rook and Dr. Maggie Phillip. Both were fantastic. Dr. Rook is a legend, he phoned me from home later the night of my appointment to let me know some test results. If they need to drain your b-l-o-o-d... there's a pathology collection centre downstairs. International students: OSHC Worldcare is billed directly (you'll still need to pay the gap). Marion Medical Centre came as a pleasing surprise when I was rushed to the hospital by friends after a soccer injury ( read my review on Repat Hospital). Upon surrending my Medicare at reception, I didn't have to wait for my name to be called by the attending physician, instead I was brough immediately into the emergency room and attended by the nurse. The doctor saw me immediately and later I was whisked to the Xray room, whilst the other nurse cared for my sons ( very sweet of them!), and onced the results came out, the doctor saw me again and shared it was a soft tissue injury in absence of a broken arm. Extremely pleased with the service, attentive staff and you don't need to wait long to see the doctor. Perfect for parents with kids especially after office hours and the weekends, should an emergency arise.
