On our first visit, we both had a side salad, followed by pasta. Side salads were very fresh and generous, with proper Italian dressing. Both pasta dishes were well, flavoured and - joy of joys - the pasta was al dente. We decided to eat here again before we left Trier. On our second visit, I had a pizza Contadina (vegetarian) and my partner had scallopini Italia, a pork escalopes, topped with tagliatelle and bolognaise sauce. This is located right next to the Karl Marx Haus, so it's pedestrian friendly and convenient. Seating is quite limited, however. So be prepared to either take this to-go or to fight for a seat. Most people ordering were taking their items to-go. MJ Pizzawelt also serves spaghetti and select Middle Eastern dishes. This is a must for a quick bite to eat that will fill you up and not break the bank. I will likely become a regular.
