The coffee is fair, though a wider selection of pastries and the ability to heat up pastries would be ideal. The hours is a bit odd since they open at 8am and close at 3pm, so most high schoolers would still be in school then. The service is efficient and friendly. When I walked in, one of the staff members greeted me and gave me a short tour, then let me carry on through the gallery without making me feel pressured, which I really appreciated. There's so much to look at. I was drawn to the surrealists, but there's really something for everyone. It was also cool that they had a temporary exhibit in partnership with a local high school, where students got to display and present their work. So not only is this gallery an artistic gem, but it's also community-oriented. Super awesome find right by the Lincoln commuter rail. If you're in the area, I'd definitely recommend checking it out. I also met the owner, who was really knowledgeable and nice, and I have to acknowledge his awesome personal style.

Every piece, whether a painting, print, sculpture or other medium has an edge. You'll see a painting that's characteristically beautiful, but there is something that makes it unique. I have a handful of pieces in mind that I want to snag for myself, but I also want to share this place's existence. They have solo shows in their gallery section and do group shows as well ---- keep an eye of for open receptions. Good art isn't cheap, so don't expect to find flea market/amazon prices here. The prints (I like) start at $150. The paintings (I like) start at $1000. I met the owner Marc and he was really helpful. This gallery has been around around for 13(+) years and is an absolute must-visit. If you don't live in the Arlington area, there are restaurants and a theater nearby, so make a day out of it. Overall - this gallery is a gem.

She was looking at some rings online but I was unsure about the quality and I always prefer to support local business. First we stopped by a different store in the center and they did not have any good quality rings so we kept going down mass Avenue towards the Heights until we got to the Artful Heart. I remembered from buying a sun hat at their old location that they had a good selection of jewelry. The location is about the same size as the old location. Maybe a tiny bit smaller. I would not necessarily call it a gallery, although they do have some pieces of art. It specializes in costume jewelry and small gifts. Lots of the jewelry is not quite my style, but my daughter was able to find a simple silver heart knot ring for about $25. While we were in the store, the person behind the desk was very friendly and sweet. One of my favorite songs came on the radio and it turns out it is one of her favorite as well and she has seen them live. Bottom line is that I would recommend the Artful Heart Gallery as a good local shop for purchasing gifts for people who like jewelry (including yourself!).

I don't know if I'll go, but if you read this in time and want to check them out... I am sure you are invited too. The goods are a mixture of OOAK art, art prints, unique 'gifty' things, scarves, pottery, and lots of jewellery. The concept behind the store seems to be a mixture of showcasing local artists and selling regular but unique goods. It's a little Etsy-ish, although I don't think you'll find anything as outrageous or weird here as you would on Etsy. I did not look at or enquire about the prices of the art, but everything else seemed to be roughly in the $20-$100 price range depending on the item... for instance, I bought a necklace that cost about $60, but a similar but less elaborate version of the necklace (pendant only) was somewhere around $20. The store reminds me a little bit of Firefly Moon, but with a better location and a slightly better selection (not to condemn FM in any way- they are a lovely store as well). My first impression is that I like them and I hope they flourish in Arlington Center.

Ordinarily, it costs $7 for adult admission. I am accounting for this fact in the review because the other 364 days of the year are not free. I have no problem paying to get into a museum, but again, it is not a question of costs, but rather one of value. The museum is one small room, the hall with the main desk (with a few photos around), and a larger, much more open hall about the size of a large chapel, or really small church. Suffice it to say, unless you wish to carefully examine all the works, the museum can be viewed in under 45 minutes (and even that is pushing it) I am a fan of photography, and I would love to see the always changing displays in this museum. However, my concern returns to the fact that for a tiny room, a large room, and a few paintings in the area with ticket desk costs $7. However, if you are a die-hard photography fan, they have some books, and some really old camera equipment you can look at and purchase (I don't know if old cameras are for sale).
