Took my Riccar vacuum in for a tuneup awhile back as it wasn't running at full strength, got it back a few days later was told it had been tuned up and tested and was back to normal. Got home that day and it now did not work at all. We took it to Vac world in Kalamazoo and they looked at it and told me there was no evidence it had been cleaned or tuned up. We ended up just buying a new Riccar from the place in Kalamazoo. Not sure if I was lied to or just bad workmanship. read more

I have a Simple singer sewing machine, but it has worked well for several years. Recently I was working on a sewing project and had a terrible problem with the thread "bunching" up from the bobbin side. I called to inquire about taking it in for repair. I spoke to Becky and told her my problem. She quickly diagnosed the problem and told me what the problem was likely to be. What a sweet thing that has been -- it's been years but I still just went in when I got ready to use the free-motion quilting gear that I've never considered using before and got hands-on coaching so that I'm confidently using it now. Fixed my Husqvarna Viking sewing machine. I don't live in the area and turn around was going to be 4-6 weeks. I paid about 20% more to have it labeled a "commercial repair" and had it back in 10 days which was great. The only thing I didn't appreciate was a salesperson trying to sell me a new sewing machine when I was dropping off my machine. I felt like I was being hustled, especially when he talked like my machine was inferior to their brand. I paid $3600 for my machine and was told I might get $800 for it on a trade. I didn't go there for that, but I am super happy that they fixed mine and gave me a warranty. I'll go back again. read more

**Since this review was posted, the manager of the store reached out to me and apologized for my experience.** experienced some of the worst customer service here. My sewing machine was in need of a tune up and I had walked passed this place numerous times while in the Frandor Shopping Center. Upon arrival, I dropped off my machine to someone who had very little knowledge of the repair process. She was unable to give me an idea of how long my machine would have to stay with them and when pressured she told me "...10-14 days because 40 machines had just come in." I explained to her that I have a small sewing business and depend on this machine, to which she didn't respond. She informed me that it would be a minimum of $25 to have my machine looked at. My machine was done in the time estimated by my original associate. When I was called to be informed that my machine was ready, the person was only able to tell me that and nothing else. When I asked questions I was met with silence on the other end of the line. Upon picking up my machine I was told it would be $99. When I asked to be walked through what was done to my machine, the gentleman pointed at a piece of paper and said I could read about what had been done. When I asked again, he simply pointed at the paper. (Upon returning home I found the technician had only checked off various boxes and nothing more.) I had taken my small children to pick up the machine and several associates watched me struggle to get my machine and family out the door, until one gentleman, who I don't even know if he was employed there, picked up my machine and helped me to my car. I feel as though I paid $99 to be neglected and will not be returning to this location. There was one associate who became more interested in me when I was looking at the assortment of machines they offered. She tried to sell me a machine that was a "great deal" at $800... :S read more

Brought in my Dyson for repair because the brush head would not spin on carpet. The rep said she would make a note of it and they would do a $75 tune up and call me and let me know what was wrong and any additional charges. She said they were very backed up and it would be a few weeks before they could look at it. They called a few weeks later and said it was "ready" with no description of what they did or what was fixed. When I went to pick it up, they were eager to close the store, so I paid without testing it and left. When I got home, I discovered the original problem was not fixed. I brought the vacuum back in and they did not apologize for the inconvenience or explain their process. This rep said it was probably the switch and it would be $25 to replace. I got a call that it was ready, so I went to pick it up, had to ask to test it, and again did not get an explanation about the nature of the repairs. Now that I have it home I discovered that there is a different brush head on my vacuum, again with no explanation. In addition to these customer service issues, no one was wearing masks when I arrived today and their store hours are very inconvenient for anyone who works (9-3). read more

I have had nothing but positive experiences here. The staff is extremely helpful and know their products. I purchased my new Elna machine in December and it's the best machine I've ever had. I've had 2 husqvarna Vikings in the past and the Elna is the best by far. I would recommend it to any sewer or quilter especially. Classes are available if you need one also. read more
