The place has a kid's sailing program. I made the mistake of…read moremaking him join it in winter. On day one they flipped the boat once and righted it. Then they towed them around and told them go left rudder, right rudder. On day two they took them to Peninsula Point in high gusts. They put the "new" kids in the same boats, not an experienced older child with a new one. Just two "new" kids who are 9 years old. From afar in my binoculars, all the boats were capsizing, being righted and capsizing again and again, even the older kids fared badly due to the wind. After capsizing multiple times the instructor motored over and when he asked for help and held on to her boat and the sailboat she told him "you already learned how to right the sailboat, you should have listened". Then zoomed elsewhere, leaving them to float. In the end the main instructor rushed out in another motor boat, picked up the kids and towed the sailboats. Later she gave us some excuses. As you can tell my kid has no interest in sailing again. He did write a great paper about the experience and has a catchy title. To say I am still upset a year later is an understatement..... Honestly, if the club is interested in any feedback. They should get a Hot Tub on the deck, no freezing kid wants to run around to the showers waiting for the water to warm up their freezing hands. They should also mix one veteran kid, with one beginner kid. The ratio of boats to instructors is also too high as was evident. I doubt they care much to make the changes though as there will always be another parent who reads this and says, that won't be my kid or so and so's kid was very happy there.

The stand outs were their fried avocado ( battered and deep fried slices of avocado) with a yummy dipping sauce. The fried calamari was really tender and one of the best I have had. I had a vodka sauce homemade sausage penne pasta and it was just perfect. The Friday prime rib was just ok. Very fatty. Came with creamed spinach and mash. The atmosphere was warm and has a higher end casual feel.

Once inside I could tell this was going to be a fun event. The setting was funky, the people funkier, and the entertainment was all that and more. Talk about "off the beaten path." But totally worth the trek…read more Came here recently for a friend's birthday. I've long heard of this place from my older/hippier Marin friends. They all swear by this joint. From what I had heard, I was expecting more of a dive bar. But this place (once you find it) is a legit music/bar/party venue. Plus, it boasts some pretty spectacular Golden Gate Bridge views (you're almost stone's throwing distance from the bridge). On the night we came, they happened to have a fireworks show around Pier 39. So we went on to the Presidio Yacht Club's deck and watched the whole thing. We pretty much had the best seats in the Bay Area. Around 7:30pm, an old-school rock band started cranking out the tunes. I saw a few folks hit the dance floor. It was def a lively scene. While I had a fun time time, there were a few things that I wasn't crazy about... 1) The drinks were WAY over-priced. I order two Makers Marks on the rocks and it cost me $28. That's even expensive by San Francisco standards. 2) While they do accept credit cards, they only accept cash gratuity (so make sure you visit the ATM before you get there). 3) Their food offerings are fairly limited and unimpressive. I saw a few pizzas come out of the kitchen that were clearly microwaved frozen pizzas. 4) Not all Uber drivers like making the trek out here (given its off-the-beaten-path location). I had two drivers in a row cancel on me. But if you're looking for a fun, funky venue for a Friday/Saturday night (and maybe get your groove on), I would highly recommend paying the Presidio Yacht Club a visit.

Even if you weren't coming here to exercise or play, it's a beautiful property to hike, bike, or walk your dog. As for the facility itself, they have some of the nicest tennis courts around. They are well maintained, there's always fresh water for players, and there's a nice shaded area for friends & spectators. I've enjoyed playing here numerous times over the year. Every year the club hosts the Tiburon Challenger which attracts some of the best players from around the world. It's really cool to be able to enjoy such world-class tennis in your own backyard. As I mentioned before, the club is extremely family-friendly. You always see kids swimming in the pool and playing ping-pong and other games on the grass. My only gripe with TPC is their bar/restaurant. The service always seems to be disjointed, and the prices always seem high for the food/drinks that you get. But it's a small gripe. Everything else is pretty stellar here.

************************** 575 ****************************…read more This was the 6th Annual Food and Wine presented by the Luxury Marketing Council of San Francisco in June 2011. Presenting the fine wines of the Luxe SF Magazine and the Marketing Council. Featuring the talented participants from Bravo's top-rated program "Top Chef" plus finer wines from Napa and Sonoma's finest wineries and vineyards. The Luxury Marketing Council of San Francisco presented a panel of six of the Chefs: Mattin Noblia (season 6) the nicest chef there, Tim Nugent (season 1), Ryan Scott (season 4), Laurene Wickeet (season 6), and 2 more chefs that I didn't remember, yup! These chefs shared their thoughts, their experiences on the famed Bravo Top Chef show, behind-the-scenes, and what is going on with their life now. Some chefs were bashing the winner of the season 6. Some complaint the hard work of 14 hours on their feet or the twin bunk bed that was too small for them. Honestly, I didn't think their responds were that great. They seemed awkward, didn't feel comfortable with our questions. I was Twittering mad at the event! I wonder who were they before Top Chef Bravo show, really? I haven't been to any of their restaurants, not that I'm any expert, I'm just ordinary diner that love fine food! Only 1 chef that I've been to his former resto! Oddly enough, they bashed about the experience and other contestants on the show and none of these chef won? HUH? Good thing that the event served amazing wines! About 25 fine wines from Napa, Sonoma, and Livermore. Here are a few that is so WORTH it the night: - Duckhorn - definitely the Sauvignon Blanc - Faust - Napa Vally Cabernet - Quintessa - Cabernet nice and dry! - Hall - Darwin Red Blend - JAQK Cellars - Her Majesty Chardonay, the name alone got me all work up! - J Vineyards and Winery - Brut Rose, stunning. - Peju Province Winery - Cabernet and the the blend Fifty/Fifty, I love it. - Robert Mondavi - Stag Lead District Cab and the Fume Blanc Reserve to Kalon Vineyard, Napa. - Rubicon Estate - Cask Cabernet and Blancaneux, always consistent! - Wente - Chardonnay The MC was nice and very provocative in keeping the audiences and participants going, I got to give him credit for that, a nice man! And the cheese form Farmstead Cheese Company was so good and the food was decent, saving me from the participant chefs this year! The Luxury Marketing Council of San Francisco consistently presented quality events, I was glad to be there at the 6th Annual Food and Wine!

When you enter it is through the CUTE gift shop. We didn't listen to the tour as we had small ones with short attention spans. We did visit everything! Many educational displays! You can touch skins and see skeletons. We learned about the center and the marine hospital.. Here they rescue injured and sick marine life and nurse them back to health, how crazy awesome is that? At the viewing area where you can see the patients they have binoculars so you can get a good look. The day we were there, just a few were waiting to be released back into the wild. Which is wonderful, still less fun for the kiddos. We will absolutely be back! Another reason to love this area;)

Once the tour got started we listened to how many different types of seals the center accommodated with rescues that were elephant seals, harbor seals, California sea lions and on occasion otters. We had a chance to see some of the patients from an elevated platform. The volunteers also made the animals' food, ran the gift shop and of course were our tour guides. Because the place thrives largely on donations, we bought plenty from the gift shop including stuffed seals, whales, magnets, snow globes, and stickers. Fun free place to bring the kiddos, not to mention the beautiful views you see in and out of the way.
