It's perhaps the organisers which bring excellence to this small jewel in Andalucia, are excellent musicians themselves. They have Spring Festivals, Winter Festivals, Children's Special Events, etc etc throughout the year! The presence of guests from other regions and countries bring a presence of the world into the musical repertoire, absolutely wonderful! The cost is very moderate both for the events as well as for the drinks... I thoroughly recommend it!

Amphitheater was opened in honor of the visit of Gaius Cesar, grandson of Emperor Augustus. After the fall of Rome in the 3rd century, a market was built over the theatre. The theatre could accommodate more than 6,000 people. Amphitheater is accessed thru Roman Theatre Museum. We happened to stumble upon it while taking stairs behind the block. It looks really impressive from approximately 6th floor perspective, end unobstructed view was free. Definitely must do even if you're spending only few hours in town.

This is a great place the museum of the roman theatre it starts as a tunnel with a few displays of…read moreartifacts like bone dice and a gold ring and leads you to the lift, the first floor has a few roman pillars and some statues you go back in the lift and go along to the roman ampitheatre outside when you go out you are actually going under the corridor which has a church above you you go over a roman floor mosaic into the roman ampitheatre this is very impressive with its seats down to the actual stage itself which you can get up on there are some latin inscriptions on a marble portico which you walk under to get to some pillars and a gardn which is no longer there The ampitheatre sat several thousand people and you can close your eyes and picture them sitting around If you dont want to go in you can walk up the back streets to get a view over the ampitheatre but it is much better to explore The fact that the seating and steps of the theatre are stilll around is very impressive it is a wonderful place to come for a peaceful walk and sit down

Came to see Jackson Browne at San Javier Jazz Festival…read more Fantastic evening in small outdoor auditorium seating only 1500 people . Jackson Browne at the peak of his career wrote for The Eagles etc and wrote Peaceful Easy Feeling amongst others .we spent 2 and half hours of utter bliss being entertained by this great musician and his band . The voice is as great as ever and it was akin to having him play in your living room. He also is a social activist and it's nice to see musicians with a conscience and trying to help less fortunate individuals . He has released a new album which was played however the oldies but goodies were included in the set list . The calibre of his band was exceptional . He is touring in Europe if you get a chance to see him , go.
