I have struggled…read morewith extreme anxiety and depression for most of my life due to childhood and young adult trauma. I have tried everything to heal. I saw doctors, therapists, and self medicated with alcohol. On the outside I looked like I had it all together, but I was dying inside with crippling anxiety and depression. I have been sober for over a year, and live a very healthy life now, but was still overwhelmed with anxiety. A good friend, who is also a psychologist in another state, told me I needed to try EMDR. It has worked miracles for people with PTSD and Complex PTSD. We found Mirta through the EMDR website. Simply put, Mirta changed by life. Her work with me was nothing short of miraculous. I saw her for several sessions beginning in May. By August I felt like the me I have always wanted to feel like. I have no anxiety....ZERO. I have my life and the only way I can describe the feeling is pure freedom and happiness. Im writing this review in the hopes that it can help other people going through the same thing. Mirta is an amazing therapist and she helped me to save myself and open up to a life Im supposed to have. My insurance is terrible so I paid out of pocket. It was worth every penny!!! You cannot put a price on freedom from depression and anxiety. Mirta is extremely knowledgeable, kind, and professional. And I am beyond grateful that I found her! And yes, this has all been during COVID. We worked on-line on a secure site and it was just like being with her in an office.....but way more convenient. If your struggling, do yourself a favor and call her. I promise you will be so grateful you did.

After several serious issues which needed addressing, I had a conversation with her and Lucy Fernandez, in charge of the office, in which I at least felt Ms. Fernandez validated the actual evidence of issues I had because of this person. Today, Ms. Fernandez wrote me to ask I remove my negative review because "we both understand how important these reviews are." I did so to avoid future communication with the office. Then I realised I do know how important they are which is why I wrote it in the first place and decided I needed to keep this truth here. Not everyone has a negative time, in fact, as I previously stated, I had worked with two other professionals here who for whom I have only the highest praise. But Ms. Rahman has no regard for patients and now I see her superior holds stars on Yelp more important than a patient's warning to others in the same vulnerable position. I would've respected her asking me to update my review after our conversation to credit her efforts (again Ms. Rahman only furthered her negative qualities throughout the talk) but this I found to be a form of bullying for self-advancement. She has guided me through some of the most difficult periods in my life so far. She has always treated me with respect and kindness that went above and beyond her job. After 3 attempts and 2 payments of $375 being cancelled, I tried reaching out over the phone once more. There is no phone number for the service allows you to speak, person-to-person, with a human being. That being said, the extra star is there because they might be alright at therapy. They just come off as greedy and cold before you get in the door. P.S. The aforementioned "door" is metaphorical as they are still Tele-health only. At this juncture in the pandemic, it just seems impersonal.
