Amazing, amazing selection of casual upscale clothes. Great brands and styles that aren't carried in many RI boutiques. The (fabulous) owner is an EXPERT at finding the right jeans to flatter any body. Don't be shy. Don't cheap out. Take advantage of her knowledge! Warning, this store can get pricey. Even the sale rack is pretty expensive. That said, if you're looking to parlay a recent windfall into great pieces that you'll love to wear... head straight to Charlestown. read more

Stopped by today. Sales person helping me was rude. Clothing is overpriced for the quality. Out of the way and so not worth the effort to get there. As Julie Robert's said in Pretty Woman, "Big mistake". read more

Owner is so kind and staff so helpful. If you need a special piece for you or a gift, this is the place. The quality and beauty of everything is unbeatable in Rhode Island. And I love having a little cappuccino at Dave's in the garden next door! read more

Galapagos Boutique is my all time favorite store. I've shopped there since the first day it opened and have been a faithful customer ever since. Not only do they have the most incredible collection of unique clothing and accessories, Sandy and all her employees are the greatest stylists you'll ever come across. My wardrobe is about 50% Galapagos as it is one of the stores I know I will love what I buy. I had a house very close to the boutique up until 2014. Now I live in Florida but I make my way to the store a few times a year OR I'll see something on Instagram and have Sandy ship it to me. I can't say enough about how much I love this store:) read more

Galapagos Collection Inc - Leather Jacket - Women's Clothing Near Me - Charlestown, Rhode Island

I was visiting Charlestown, RI for family. We decided to stop by the boutique. The woman working the counter who claimed she was the owner was incredibly nasty, pushy, and judgemental. In regards to COVID-19 Rhode Island regulations I am sure this establishment was not following protocol. There were no staff, including the owner, wearing masks. Unfortunately there was no plexi glass over the check out counter. Moreover, it is impossible to stay a proper 6 ft away from other customers due to lack of space in the boutique. Customers were trying on clothes, to my surprise, against state protocol. I will never go to this establishment again, recommend it to someone, or financially benefit them in away. read more

VERY upset that the young girl at the desk had a horrendous cold, which upon my questioning, she admitted that she was sick It's unconscionable that the owner of any business in this era of the novel Coronavirus, would be so mercenary as to have an obviously ill individual in her shop, with complete disregard for her customers' potential to get sick. read more

Shop is very dirty and cluttered. Merchandise is mediocre, grossly overpriced, and seems skewed toward older women. There are darling shops with much better clothing, service, and locations in Watch Hill and Westerly proper. read more

To have Galapagos boutique in our back yard is always an uplifting experience. Sandra the owner has an amazing selection of clothing, jewelry and accessories. It is colorful and upbeat and truly stylish. A very good happy place. Take some me time and stop by Galapagos...you will not be disappointed. read more

The Galapagos boutique offers a unique shopping experience. It is rare to find a shop that sells casual and dressy clothing along with all of the accessories you need to make the outfit look classy. The owner of the boutique loves her job and goes to great lengths to find items from places such as California, Italy, and France to name just a few. She has a great sense of style and can put together outfits that I wouldn't be able to do on my own. She takes her time to make sure that everything goes together well and will run back and forth to find the right finishing touch. Although shopping there will put a dent in your budget, you will truly feel special. read more

Thank you Sandra and staff, for making my shopping experience such a joy I was in your beautiful boutique today, not exaggerating, just beautiful. Love your taking temperatures, hand sanitizing everyone that walks in the door. So comforting in the middle of this pandemic, such a stress reliever. And the best is I purchased designer dresses made in Italy at Boutique pricing! Fabulous shopping, thank you ladies, can't wait to come back. read more

Best boutique in the state, hands down. The store is well stocked with an array of clothes from All over the world. Galapagos is a high end store with impeccable service, there's something for everybody and you can grab a treat at Dave's coffee! So many fabulous brands and selection. Have been coming here for years and highly recommend this place. Be sure to grab a delish coffee next door while you're here! read more

I have been a customer of Galapagos since they opened 25 years ago. Sandra and David are two of the nicest, kindest and most honest people on the planet. Sandra is a terrific stylist and never lets you walk out the door with items that are not right for you. Their merchandising is great and their selections cater to a variety of ages and fashion choices. Don't miss an opportunity to visit the store! You will not leave disappointed. read more

My mom always said "true class is the ability to make everyone feel like a million bucks". This is exactly how you feel at the Galapagos boutique. I have been shopping with Sandra, the owner, for many years. Her selection is not just beautiful and luxurious but very different from any other high end store. Sandra's taste lever is incredible and she truly knows what looks good on you. Sometimes I just call her explaining what I need and then what I receive in the box exceeds all my expectations. Thank you, Sandra, for an amazing service. Can't wait to see you in person again when I am in the area. read more

I've been shopping here for 20 years. Galapagos continues to prioritize customer service, quality and safety, all while making you feel welcome. I shop in many cities in and and outside of the US; Galapagos offers the most unique styling and variety of brands, as well as personalized service. The clothes and styling are fabulous. Sandra, the owner, is an amazing artist and stylist with clothing, which rivals any other boutique owner. This continues to be the best shopping experience of my life. Thank you for modifying your approach to keep us all safe! read more

I have been shopping at Galapagos for many years. Sandra, the owner, has always been welcoming and helpful. It is the boutique you go to for a special occasion outfit, the latest trend or a classic piece that you will wear for years. Sandra has an eye for beautiful clothing including selections that she purchases or has made from around the world. A magazine listed Galapagos one of the top independent boutiques in the country. The original Dave's coffee shares the store, so it's a convenient perk! Pun intended! Just a fun experience...coffee, shopping...the best! read more

The owner needs to learn the lesson "the customer is always right". I have visited this boutique a few times and have made a few purchases. The owner is never polite and always seems to have an attitude. I will not shop here again- save your money and shop online. read more

Love this store and love Sandra and Dave! Look forward to seeing them in the summer! They have the absolute best selection of clothes, my favorite are their beautiful cashmere sweaters!!! I always find my favorite items from here, and the best is I always get so many compliments on my clothes from here. I have been coming here for about 13 years and will continue shopping here every summer I come to Rhode Island! read more

Nightmare for me. Reasons: 1. Owner must have hoarder tendencies b/c I have no idea how she crammed so many freaking clothes in a tiny ass space. 2. The buyer has REALLY good taste in unique clothes. They are also on the pricey side. 3. Narrow tight claustrophobia inducing dressing area, with doors that swing outward to potentially smack an unsuspecting lady across the hall. twice. (sorry). 4. Really good fashionista help. I mean seriously, she showed me 10 dresses that worked, 3 of which I agonized over which to buy, and then I ended up buying all 3. I mentioned pricey right (fie on thee, wiley fashionista! and can you help me accessorize? eh, maybe that's a bad idea...) 5. Get me outta here, I'm spending some people's idea of rent money here... what the hell, I can't... ravenous fashion hungry rich ladies shop here and are blocking the hallway and wow, I didn't notice this thingie earlier..... Just get me outta here. Nightmare. Plus, it's connected to Dave's coffee next door and I'm probably overstimulated to begin with. read more

I did not have a nice experience here. I'm an artist-with a platinum card-so I usually look like a hobo but I'm able to make a purchase or 3. Went in on a rainy day, there were no other customers. Tried to engage in some small talk w a sales clerk by asking who their customers were, locals or vacationers. She promptly admonished me by saying they had clients not customers (excuse me), and they were largely from NY because of the exceptional customer service and their ability to coordinate an entire ensemble. Being from NY myself and looking around and not seeing anything I couldn't find back home, I gave a little push back. She wasn't happy. At this point, because I could still become a customer---excuse me---- client, I had half expected her to say "Wait!! I have just the thing for you!!!" to illustrate her claim. Sadly no. As she lumbered away, I gave a final look around and waved adios. Give me NY any day, or even the Internet, nothing here to warrant the attitude. It felt like the scene from Pretty Woman where Julia Roberts goes back to the chi chi boutique laden with shopping bags from other stores and telling them they made a big mistake by not waiting on her. But then again, this isn't that chi chi of a boutique and I don't look like Julia Roberts. Bottom line- Skip it. read more

There's a reason Galapagos Boutique has a world class following of stars (rumored to style a "Housewife") and clients who travel thousands of miles to own pieces that you simply cannot find online. And if you do, it may not fit or have the impact you envisioned. You'll find stunning clothes, jewelry and accessories only Galapagos carries. There is always something new, different, and ever changing. Let the stylist push your envelope in accentuating the best "you" to the world! Shopping at Galapagos is a trans formative experience in allowing yourself to depart from your comfy norm into something exquisite. Browsing is fine too. Head next door to Dave's Coffee for a delicious cup of Joe and goodies. You'll understand why it was awarded Best Coffee in Rhode Island. :) I should know! read more

Gorgeous array of clothing, shoes, coffee shop (Dave's - amazing coffee shop with fabulous coffee and food) and jewelry. Everything is expensive but beautiful. Shop is adorable but small and clothes are jammed together. Nothing ever fits me there anyway (most sizes are under size ten). But lovely stylish accessories so I go anyway, anytime I am in Charlestown. If you haven't been to Galapagos, you really should go! read more

The selection is phenomenal and the way they style everything is timeless. They help you mix and match and create an entire wardrobe. They carry high end designers that even Nordstrom doesn't have! read more

No Returns. EVER. Only store credit. This is not a normal policy. I can understand no returns after 14 days or on sale clothes or without a receipt (maybe). But for a store where many people are in the area only for the summer, this is ridiculous. I can't use my store credit until next summer; I returned a dress I purchased two days earlier on the way out of town. God forbid I lose my receipt in that year. The girl at the check-out was unsympathetic. Bottom line: Try everything on before you leave the store and make sure you want it. read more

Sadly extremely disappointed and will never shop here again. I have been a good customer for years. I don't live near by yet I like to give back to the small business owners as I know how hard it is and I appreciate getting quality clothing etc.. and the service that should come with it. This was not the case this time when I purchase a beautiful cashmere sweater for $450 to go away with, wore it once while away and it pilled pretty badly. When I brought it in to show her - a place I have never returned anything, I was told that was "normal" and they could not take it back. I haven't even had the sweater for 30 days. Needless to say, good customer service would have been to NOT let that happen. Rather, she lost a very good client and woman in business whom will not forget this or forget to let others know about it. read more

We just left there, we had a coffee and went in the boutique. The staff at the coffee section was awesome and very personable. However the same couldn't be said for the two women in the boutique. We were disgusted with the way the two ladies treated us. Didn't say hi to us but the older couple behind us that appeared to have money the one girl was like hi how you doing!!! I said hi to other girl because no one said hi to me so I decided to initiate it. The prices were outrageous and if we were to buy something we wouldn't have just because of the way they treated us. Won't ever go back. Terrible salesmanship. Unfortunate. read more
