Dan answered the phone immediately (yes, a human actually picked up!). He spoke to me at length about my issue and examined photos while on the phone with me. He reassured me that I was on the right track with the potion I used. Dan patiently walked me through recommended next steps. He even said he'd be happy to consult with me if needed, and if I still failed to see improvement after waiting a week for the stone to dry out, then he'd come out. But, he urged me to stick with what I started because based on what he saw, the treatment is working!! I walked away from that call feeling empowered and totally reassured that if I can't fix the issue, it's fixable. Dan stayed on the phone to answer other questions, including finding me a referral to another contractor who could do other work in my kitchen. What luck it was that I stumbled across those reviews and called when I did. I had to write this lengthy review because it's so rare to find a contractor who is honest, patient, and empathetic (not to mention someone who would be willing to take time out of his day to help a stranger). If you need stone repaired, this is your guy. Do yourself a favor and look no further.

When I went up the day before listing the property, I noticed 1- his guys didn't paint behind the stairs. 2- There was a piece of lattice that had fallen off, gotten muddy and his guys JUST PAINTED OVER THE MUD and left it on the ground. His response was "It was like that before we started as well. We stained it propped up" Really? His guys don't think they should prep a sruface before painting it and just hammer one lattice in? I had someone I trusted there doing other work so I paid that guy $100 to correct these things and repaint the bench and deck finials which also didn't look great. I sent pictures to Gifford asking him for reimbursement (not even $100 but what he thought was fair). He didn't respond. 4-Unprofessional.
