I do not knit. However, my wife does and I have picked up a few tidbits of knowledge from this. I…read morehave also been her companion on several visits to this store. From a non-knitters point of view, and experienced yarn store visitor, this is a nice place. I think the first time I visited, they were in the midst of remodeling or reorganizing their show area. It was still a very nice environment, and a pleasant store. We just went there over the weekend, and it was in tip-top shape! There is a decent amount of yarn on hand, and several tables and a couch to sit at. Lots of notions and accessories, as well as a small selection of clothing and wearable creations. The store does not carry 'all the yarns', but they have a very nice selection of yearn weights, colors and fibers. Considering how many boutique yarn dyers and craft spinning junkies there are online, it would be silly to try to carry them all. However, you should be able to find a nice skein or two that you really need to take home and introduce to the rest of your stash. Last, but not least, they have one of the nicest store restrooms I have ever used. 'The Loo' is small, but very clean, nicely decorated and easy to access. And clean, did I mention that? Anyway, if you are escorted to another yarn shop by your SO, this one is a good choice.

SWAK has more Noro than you can shake a stick at and if you're looking for Rowan, they've got it. [Edited to Add: They no longer stock Noro Kureyon! This is upsetting.] While SWAK does offer online shopping from their website, visiting the store is the way to go since being able to see the colors of the yarn up close and feel the texture is half the fun. If you're looking for needles or hooks, they've got a nice selection and also a generous choice of books and gift items. Service can be a little iffy depending on what day you go- sometimes I've received outstanding help and other times the staff have seemed uninterested in answering any questions. Definitely worth the drive from Oklahoma City, especially if you plan on making an afternoon of visiting the neighboring antique shops and taking the city trolley tour.

This review reflects my personal experience with Michael Baker and Woodgrain Construction…read more I hired Michael Baker and Woodgrain Construction to complete a major remodel of my home after being told the project would take approximately 6-8 weeks, with an additional 2 weeks for approved changes to the scope of work. While I was traveling internationally, I continued making weekly payments in good faith based on repeated assurances that the project was progressing according to schedule. When I returned, I found the project significantly behind the timeline that had been represented. Although demolition had been completed, many major portions of the remodel--including the master bathroom, kitchen, ceilings, and finish work--remained incomplete. After reviewing the work completed compared to the payments made, I believe I had paid substantially more than the value of the work that had been completed. I attempted to resolve the matter by meeting with Michael, providing written notice of my concerns, requesting a revised construction schedule, a recovery plan, payment accounting, licensing and insurance documentation, and establishing reasonable completion milestones. Following those discussions, work on my project ceased. I have been unable to resolve the matter to my satisfaction and have retained legal counsel to assist with the dispute. I am now having to arrange for additional labor to complete the project and minimize further delays. If you are considering hiring this company, my recommendation based on my experience is to: Have a detailed written contract that clearly defines the scope of work. Tie all payments to completed milestones rather than advance weekly payments. Verify licensing and insurance before work begins. Document the project with dated photographs throughout construction. Keep all communications in writing. Request regular written project schedules and progress updates.
