When we arrived, the young lady barista and pastry chef extraordinaire was in the back baking pastries. She served up the best Caffe Macchiato including the signature swirls. What an artist. Some locals showed up and we had the best conversation about Albion. Our ancestors all grew up in nearby Ellery in the 1800's so it was exciting to have coffee in the downtown area they likely traveled to albeit with horse and wagon. This is one of those places and I highly recommend you come here for the coffee alone. I wouldn't call it a coffee shop, as it is primarily a restaurant, but it's the closest thing to it and serves a variety of coffee drinks. I just consider it a bonus that they do a great job with the food that they serve. Their menu isn't big, but it feels like they put a greater focus on quality rather than quantity. Unfortunately our nav system indicated we would get there exactly at closing time. I phoned to let them know of our situation. They responded that it was NOT a problem, they'd be there! Sure enough, I walked in at 1:59, all the employees were busily cleaning up, the owner was at the register, I told her I'd just called and our order. They could not have been nicer, happy to help us out! I loved the space also with local art work and a little book store of local lore written by local authors.
