Called them several times on time frame of the fix they said would look into but would not hear back. So finally after months of nothing I contacted the BBB they then all of the sudden were able to fix it. We picked up the chair and within 2 weeks the same chair had broke so we inspected all the chairs and the weld job on the chairs is not safe so we asked if we could get a refund and we would purchase different chairs from them and they said no they would try to fix it again that is all they could do. We do not feel safe using these chairs so since they will not stand by their warranty we will have to take the loss.

My college son came home and took it to college early October. We were visiting him this weekend and my husband said why wasn't that covered under warranty and I said that's a good question I don't know I will call. I called and I was transferred to Crystal the store manager who literally would not let me get a word in and she kept trying to tell me that there was no way it would be covered because we moved the recliner from my place out of our possession to my son's dorm room. This is absolutely ridiculous that they would Not help us. She would not let me get a word in edgewise. Yes I was very upset on the phone but she was very condescending. . I can't believe people like that are in customer service. I just want our chair fixed and they refused to help me. She kept trying to talk down to me like I was below her. She kept talking over me pretty much the entire conversation which was a yelling match. She told me I had to report it at exactly the time it happened and shouldn't have waited. Well I have 4 kids and a business and lots of other things on my mind. I'm reporting it 4-6 weeks later. Where in my paperwork does it say that I have to report it at the exact moment it happened and that I cannot move the chair from one house to another location if it's with the same family! I picked up the chair, I could have delivered it anywhere I wanted and it shouldn't have mattered. I've never experienced anything like it in my life! The chair was not even two months old when it started leaning. I will never step foot in the store again to purchase anything. She should not be a store manager! Also not in customer service! UPDATE: Kayla from the Marshalltown store called me and apologized and told me she would take care of it. She was extremely nice and made me feel much better after speaking to her. They need to duplicate that girl and make her manager at all the locations because she knows how to take care of an issue. I didn't care if I had to pay for the repair, I just wanted the chair fixed. She assured me she would get a repair person out asap and that happened the next day. John came and met me to look at the chair and he was also very pleasant and extremely nice. They definitely made me rethink about not shopping there again because with people that Kayla and John, how could you not want to! Customer service was top notch for both of them.

I purchased two purple pillows ($239.99 each) and was not told up front by the salesperson, Fred,…read morethat they had a LATEX core. We were, also, not told up front that they were not returnable, which I should have asked about in the first place, in case the loft of the pillows was not appropriate for my neck. One pillow was left unopened in the box, and the pillow I chose to try out has a defect in the purple grid. I let the pillow air out for almost a week in order to be able to sleep on it, due to the chemical smell. The morning after I slept on it, I had a blister and rash on my face, as well as, a severe headache and stuffed sinus. I went over the paperwork and discovered that the core of the pillow is LATEX, which, again, I should have either checked into first, or should have been told about up front. I contacted the store to share my story. The salesperson from whom I purchased the pillow was not in that day, but the man with whom I spoke assured me that they would take the "unopened" pillow back, but not the other pillow because it had been opened and used, even if it did have a defect. He would have the manager contact me. I would have to contact "Purple" regarding the defective pillow. I did just that. A Purple representative told me I had to deal directly with the store from which I purchased the pillows. If I had purchased the pillows through their store online, there would not be any problem, but being as I purchased them through a store, the store's policies took precedence. My husband then called the store to tell them "Purple" would not take back the defective pillow and to ask if they would let me exchange the defective pillow. The girl with whom he spoke said that she would have to check with the manager about the defective pillow, but assured my husband that they WOULD take back the unopened pillow. She would have the manager call us. This was the second time my husband and I had been told that the manager would contact us. We decided to drive the hour to the store, and the first thing we did upon arrival was to ask to see the manager, Kevin. We both explained the situation and he just kept saying "No, we won't take them back; It's our store policy." I stated that he might want to share with his employees that they might want to explain the policies to the customers at the time of sale. He came at me with, "Now, you're trying to tell me how to do my job." I explained that that was not the case. I stated that we were told we would receive a phone call from him, the manager two separate times, but never did, and that evidently there must be a problem with communication. That didn't sit very well with him, so I just said, "I'm done here," and started walking out the door. I don't find it helpful to engage in arguments. He was still yelling at me when we walked out the door. My recommendation is to purchase household furnishing from small town businesses or upscale businesses such as McGowans or places that treat their customers with gratitude and respect.

However, a few weeks later when we went to purchase a headboard, our experience was different. A sales associate constantly followed us around after we requested no assistance, and did not respect our privacy when discussing the purchase and our financials. I realize the associate would be there to see how much we spend, but I don't find it appropriate for the associate to be in earshot when discussing our private financial information.
