Parking is only possible on a nearby sandy parking spot for a daily fee. The breakfast is terrible and expensive. You should eat outside if possible. The second "star" is just because of location.

I was bummed at the thought of being at a "Best Western" while in Corsica, France. However, this was a charming hotel. While it's not "in" town, it is located across the bay and is only a 45 minute walk or 10 minute taxi ride into town. The rooms are small but very functional and ECO friendly. Beds, pillows and linens were super comfortable. Charging stations for phones by your bed and bathroom serves your needs surprisingly well for being so small. Pool and Jacuzzi in front of the hotel, overlooking the water and silhouette of the city. Note: Pool closes early, 8:30 pm. Quaint bar area to the left of check in and a really tasty, international breakfast bar in the morning. I liked that I could sit on the patio overlooking the pool, bay and city while eating breakfast and drinking a yummy cappuccino. Check in staff were rude. I understand the "ugly American" stereotype and try to always be a polite and cultural American tourist. The guy at the front desk immediately spoke English to me. So, I spoke English back. When he was rude and dismissive towards me, I spoke in French and he was more polite.

The hotel is perfectly located just a short drive from downtown and beaches. Walkable in 8/12 minutes. 2016: The bathrooms (slightly outdated) are well kept and very clean. The pool area and veranda are a real oasis. 2018: The bathrooms have been remodeled, tastefully so, and all the remaining carpeting has been change for either wood or vinyl. Organized work related retreats and have been there in the summer of 2011, 13, 15, 16, and 18. Due to the nature of my stays, I have seen and accessed many rooms and I have seen an consistant and positive evolution for this little family run hotel. Stayed here this summer again (2018) and was, extremely, pleased by my stay.

Such a luxurious, authentic (and amazingly affordable) way to experience the west coast of Corsica…read more This "motel" was recommended by my French tutor who has family in Corsica and was able to point us to this semi-hidden gem, right on the secluded Plage du Pero. For €70/night (low season) we had the most amazing room with a private balcony looking straight out onto the turquoise Mediterranean Sea. Half of their rooms have been renovated with beautiful modern amenities and plenty of space (compared to even American hotels). There's a bar & excellent restaurant on site so you really never need to leave. Swim, eat, drink, sleep...vacation paradise! Though, the breakfast is incredibly basic & overpriced so it's wise to BYO and keep it in the fridge in your room. The motel is just a 5 minute drive to Cargese, where you can grocery shop or eat out in the cute centre ville. Best of all worlds, and the highlight of our entire vacation in France! Next time we'll stay more than just 2 nights.
