I love to visit historic cemeteries because you learn so much. Also, the way headstones and grave…read moremarkers change over time is also interesting to me. This is a very peaceful and beautiful cemetery right on the water.
We were in San Juan for the day via a cruise and this was the place I wanted to go. It is just a couple bucks uber ride from the cruise port well worth the money because it is hilly and also we probably would have had a hard time finding it on our own.
My husband and I walked around looking on our own and then we came across an old man who worked for the city and worked there. He spoke enough English to give us a little tour. Super nice. He also told us that a lot of people come there at night and vandalize the place or leave trash, which is sad.
I would say if you are into history or genealogy, it is worth the trip (it is basically free so it is worth the trip anyway!)
