TL;DR - Really nice coffee shop serving food. Shame it's not open longer hours.
Piccadilly Place has a few coffee stops - there's a Starbucks and a Black Sheep Coffee, but there is also Fundamentum. For a long time there was no sign on the exterior which kept it a bit of a secret, but it's easier to find now they've put one up.
Inside is all very nicely decorated - typical Northern Quarter style decor. I've only ever been here for coffee which has always been really nice, and is cheaper than at their neighbours too! They also serve food - basically brunch and pizzas - which all looks good though I've not tried it. You can see into the kitchens if you sit at the rear. There's also a coffee loyalty card scheme which is a bit more generous than most (buy 7, get your 8th free).
The thing I find odd here though are the opening hours. They're clearly here for the business community, so close fairly early and aren't open at weekends... but they have beers on tap and lots of food options - it's a shame they're never open at the weekend when I would love to come and sample some of their other dishes. read more
