Recently tried Hour Blast for the first time via ClassPass and so glad I did! It's a great workout…read moreand offers something different from other workout classes I've tried. First, if you're a first-timer, I'd recommend checking their social media pages or emailing the studio (they're super fast via email) to ask about the format of the class. Each class is different and some are better for beginners -- it's a very structured workout and can be kind of confusing if you're new to it. In every class, you spend some time on the treadmill and some time on the floor doing various exercises. My class was structured so that there were two shifts of people, half on the treadmills and half on the floors, and then we'd switch. The instructor gives instructions for both sessions simultaneously (this must be a hard class to instruct -- lots to keep track of!). On the treadmills, you spend a minute at a specific speed and incline and then you'll get new instructions. The instructor will give options for beginning/intermediate/expert and you can choose the incline/speed you want. On the floor, the exercises are all sorts of strength building movements. The class I went to was resistance focused, so we used resistance bands in every activity. It's definitely very fast-paced and takes some getting used to, and it was hard, but it also doesn't feel endless since the time periods are so specific and you're usually doing one specific exercises for one minute maximum. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the studio itself is very small and wasn't as clean as many other fitness studios -- the ground was a little dirty and the water cooler needed cleaning.

I love hourblast!!!! This is the best work out there is! The only gripe I have is that sometimes…read morethey book too many girls in a class & it's hard to maneuver between people for the floor exercises. They shouldn't put certain exercises next too each or allow too many people to be on the floor so it's not constant bumping into each other. Also, it would be nice if they swept the floors more. Or at least in between classes. I hate doing planks, push ups etc. with peoples hair all over. Yuck!!

Enjoyed my class here at the Barre Code! I took the noon class with Jen. She was very welcoming and…read moreenthusiastic and gave me a tour around the studio (super spacious!). The workout was exactly what I needed while on vacation as a break from eating! There's plenty of parking available in the plaza and TBC is located right above Snap Fitness. I'm a regular at Barre Code in CA and this just felt like home away from the home studio.

I discovered Barre Code through one of their free classes in Lakeside Mall. I remember being really…read moreimpressed that the studio owner, Kelley, attended and even stayed after to introduce herself to the students. She gave everyone a discount code to try a class free at their studio so I thought I'd give their studio a try. I made an account online and scheduling/ checking out was super easy. They do have a 2hr cancellation policy, after which they will charge you. Price wise, Barre Code is more affordable than its competitors, Barre3 and PureBarre. They have a new member package that is $89 for a month of unlimited classes which I think is superb and you can try a class for free using a discount code. Parking was tough on Harrison and the studio itself is on the second floor so it was a little hard to find. Once inside, the studio was immaculate, clean, and welcoming. The receptionist was very nice and helped me check in. They have spacious bathrooms, a childcare area, lockers, a changing room (which doubles as a mother's room!), and even a nice vanity for freshening up. Towel rental and bottles of water are available for purchase for $1. Kelley was there greeting students and even remembered meeting me. The class itself was great- high energy, challenging, and I'm confident that I will see results. There were around 10 people in my class and my instructor, Marissa, was very down to earth, encouraging, and attentive. There are 3 levels of class difficulty- Barre Code, TBC (total body conditioning), and HIIT. There are also 2 classes on the weekends - HIIT and Barre restore that focus on stretching and recovery.
