We loved the experience, but when we got a flat, our trip became a nightmare. We were in the middle…read moreof nowhere, and the first three customer service reps thought I should spend the night on the side of the highway with my two children, rather than helping us get a service to come out and change the tire. I was very disappointed, the first rep cancelled the tire service because, surprise surprise, there was no tire shop open at 7 pm. NOBODY called to update me, only the Michelin service had told me it was cancelled. We finally got three very friendly guys to come out and put on the spare for us for a crazy amount of cash. When we finally got back on the road at 10 pm, the sensor fault came on. "Oh, you need to go to a garage immediately and get it recalibrated." At 10 pm?! There's no garage open that late! Even if it wasn't the sticks, no place is open at 10 at night. We ended up driving back home with the sensor warning on the whole time. It was a very frustrating experience, but the experience with the RV was phenomenal. Otherwise, I'd give only one star for the customer service alone. I get that the reps are in California, but they could have at least asked what time zone we were in.

Unfortunately, my experience with Allstar Motorhomes was absolutely unacceptable…read more I paid approximately $18,000 for a 14-day motorhome rental, and what was supposed to be a great trip turned into a nightmare. From the beginning, we had serious issues with the motorhome. The tires and suspension were in terrible condition and, in my opinion, unsafe. I have photographs documenting the condition of the tires. Then the generator failed while we were in Kentucky, leaving us without air conditioning. Later, near Chicago, the DEF system failed, putting the motorhome into a derate condition where it could barely move. We ended up stranded for approximately three days and had to spend two nights in a hotel while waiting for a replacement motorhome. The worst part was that this wasn't simply a vacation where we could change our plans. I rented this motorhome specifically to travel to Wisconsin to compete in the USA Cycling Masters National Championships. Because of the breakdown and delays, I missed the events I had traveled there to compete in. You cannot replace that experience. I do want to be fair about one thing: Steve's customer service and communication were very good, and I appreciated his efforts to help us through the situation. My complaint is not about Steve personally. My complaint is that a motorhome costing this much to rent should have been properly inspected, maintained, and reliable before being handed over to a customer for a long-distance trip. Mechanical problems can happen with any vehicle. But when you're paying approximately $18,000 for only 14 days, you don't expect multiple major failures, questionable tire and suspension conditions, days stranded on the road, hotel stays, and ultimately missing the entire reason for your trip. This was one of the worst rental experiences I've ever had, and based on what happened to us, I cannot recommend Allstar Motorhomes.
