If you are looking for a Chinese food fix in MX city, this will work. Both the outside and interior decor is clean and over-the-top stereotypical Chinese.
This is definitely a U.S. Style Chinese restaurant. I waiver between 3 and 4 stars. For some reason the overall experience was "meh" for me, but I can't point to anything other than they are trying a little too hard to be stereotypically Chinese. But that's what you'd expect from any half decent Chinese place in the U.S. So I give it a 4.
They start you off with some fried noodle snacks with mustard and sweet/sour sauce. I decided to keep it safe and ordered a sweet and sour chicken dish. My partner ordered a shrimp dish, and we also got chicken fried rice.
The fried rice as average, but my sweet and sour was above average. My partner thought her dishes sauce was not that interesting but the shrimp itself was quite good.
Green tea was brought without asking - always a good sign.
No fortune cookies, which makes me a little sad, but since it was a U.S. invention I believe, not a surprise.
Service was competent, but not engaging. read more
