I personally received excellent service and fast Best time is around 11 am or 2pm. This day in question the person helping me was actually offering to help and was not just doing the barely minimum. She even told me to sit down and see if I could locate what I was looking for in my emails, then show to her without having to get a new # and do the line again! Clean. read more

I just moved to Atlanta and came to get my GA handicap placard. It's seems like a rare occasion when a county office gets 5 stars, but honestly, this tax office deserves it. The office is tucked away off the road so use your GPS to locate the turn in. There was plenty of parking. Inside, we were greeted with happy faces by reception. There were only a few people there so we were seen immediately. The lady who helped me was very pleasant. I was in and out of the tax office with my placard in maybe 10 min. Best experience with DMV/Tax Collector office ever. Thanks for the great service! read more

Went to do title work. The person behind the glass was horrible. She got an attitude immediately - the look on her face visibly changed when we walked up. We have been back three times and gotten different answers from each person we dealt with. This after providing EXACTLY what was asked for on the website. These people are supposed to assist the public but sit on their throne behind the glass and act like they are doing people a favor by being there. also, you are behind a layer of glass... Speak up and articulate so we can understand you. No name tags so you can't document who you spoke with. Ask for a name and they roll their eyes at you. Absolutely horrible customer service. read more

Fast friendly service. Easy parking. Rosa Williams helped me and she was extremely friendly and proficient.

Pleasant, quick and accurate. The service here was without any hesitations. Early mornings works for me. Thank you!

The office was open but I was told the manager wouldn't be allowing accepting any more people today. I took off work to handle the business I needed to handle and I was turned away. read more

- Fast service. - The staffer who handled my transaction was a hoot. She obviously was enjoying her job that day. - They need a sign inside the front door stating that you need to get a number from the person behind the glass first. - Way better than the downtown location, so it was worth the drive. read more

Even though some Fulton County tax offices remain closed, property assessments were completed in June 2020 but our tax commissioner never sent tax bills or updated his website to enable timely payments. As property tax bills represent a huge cost, all property owners should be able to budget accordingly and ensure that they are able to pay their respective bill on time. Even if tax staff are working from home, Commissioner Art Ferdinand has no excuse for failing to prepare, mail, and update all tax bills on his website. My 2020 bill still does not appear on the tax commissioner's flawed website, just over 30 days prior to the annual October 15 due date. Our tax comissioner's behavior is unacceptable! Art Ferdinand must be replaced by a competent tax commissioner who does his job by ensuring that our county government remains funded. All should remember this warning on election day. read more

I have to say I have mixed feelings when it comes to the tag office. For one I don't like the fact that I have to pay for a stupid sticker every year to put on my tag for the ad velorum tax that increases even though the value of my car goes down each year. So minus 1 star for that. But as far as this location I have been twice and both times the service has been pretty fast. I go in and the clerk gives me a number, before I can even sit down in the waiting area my number is called and I'm with a tag clerk. The staff here seems to be pretty friendly and they try their best to answer your questions and get you out the door. Minus another star for yesterday. I had to get a copy of my 2011 vehicle registration for the Homestead Exemption office. When I changed my address to Fulton, after driving with a Baldwin tag for 10 years, last August I did not get a registration card that the Homestead office requires so had to drive all the way to Sandy Springs from my office in Buckhead to get that to meet a deadline of filing for Homestead Exemption. Well, the minus star is because they charge for the registration card that they should have given me when I changed my address with them. Otherwise this office is ok. It is located in a full service center where you can get a tag, go to jail, go to court, get a gun license and marriage license as well, or other county functions. read more

After getting bounced around in their phone system that directed my property tax question to the DMV and then to the tax assessors, finally I was able to speak to a person from the accounting department who had information to share with me. Although that sounds like a plus, the person had zero interest in listening to my particular situation and was demeaning in her communication. She provided information on the process but could not answer my questions related to the property I used to own. She provided me the phone number to someone who supposedly can verify if taxes have been paid. The question needing to be answered was related to a property I sold in July 2020. I received a 2020 tax bill but in the settlement statement from closing it shows I paid those taxes. I wanted to verify if I still had a tax commitment or not. I respect that 2020 has been tough on everyone, including government workers, like the woman I spoke with. I'm giving a 2 star review because she did provide me the process and hopefully directed me to someone who can answer my question. I'll update the review if that isn't the case. UPDATE: The person she directed me to was able to speak directly to if the property I used to own had an outstanding tax balance and if solid waste had been paid. She knew who to direct me to. The gentleman (last name: Hicks) was very professional, knowledgeable and competent. He spoke to me respectfully and patiently. read more

Fast and reliable. Usually you can get misguided information from front desk staff, but not here. Front desk was correct in her information. I then pulled a number waited approximately 2 minutes and then sat down at a window. She was super helpful, polite and fast!! Much better service than in Gwinnett county. read more

Worst service ever!!! I waited 1hr + to get a form printed. No one wanted to help me and everyone I spoke to had a attitude. read more

Fulton County residents go to Sandy Springs to pay taxes and get tags. Located at 7741 Roswell Road, I always pay ad valorem tax and get my tags from here. Generally it only takes me 10 minutes to park, pay the tax, get the tag and place the new tag on my plate. It really doesn't matter what time of day you go. This location is open week days from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Additionally, if you go, take cash or a check because taxes can't be paid with debit or credit cards. Don't waste your time waiting on line downtown at the Pryor Street office. For more information go to www.fultoncountytaxes.org or call (404) 730-6100. read more

Fulton County Tax Office - Tax Services Near Me - Atlanta, Georgia

I've been to the Fulton County Services office several times since moving to Sandy Springs. While the Tax & Tag office is as efficient as they come, there are some serious issues happening on the second floor of that building. I went up there to get some paperwork signed to have my passport expedited by the International Visa Service. On the way, I passed the courtroom for Fulton County probate court. This Hispanic woman (wearing only a halter top and jean shorts) was being harassed by police outside the courtroom doors. She pleaded in broken English she was only waiting for her boyfriend, and another cop spiked the insult "Why? Does he have your jacket in there? Aren't you cold?" Of course she was cold, you jackass! It was only 45 degrees outside. I bet if she could have afforded warmer clothing she'd have it on! I couldn't believe how rude that officer was being to that poor woman. Is that the conduct becoming of a Fulton County official? So I get to room 253 and there's a poster barely clinging to life stating the top 10 ways to provide excellent customer service hanging above this abysmal looking man. He fumbles through my paperwork, and the woman next to him bemoans that they have another person getting sent to them from the passport office and that if they didn't have enough people working they'd be there until after 5. Seriously?! I was the only person at the counter. There's another torn sign stating only check, money order, or exact cash is allowed for payment. Um...isn't this 2013? I only had two 20 bills for the $25 payment and NO ONE on the second floor would give me change. Even the office for the probate court refused to break my $20, as a woman wearing a vile shade of hot pink lipstick declared she could only give change for "their customers" meaning the people who had to pay court fines. That's how ya feel then, Fulton County. We're no longer citizens of the state of Georgia, but customers. Oh the irony of sitting beneath the tattered customer service poster sign being treated as if I was a burden instead of a hard-working, tax-paying citizen of Sandy Springs. Finally, the abysmal man processing my paperwork reluctantly offers me a $5 and $10 in exchange for my $20 (bet he does that a lot to screw people out of $5) and I damn near ran out of that building seriously hoping I would never have to go to the second floor again. God forbid any of y'all have to head up there, bring exact change and your prayers for the human race. read more

OK, I can't believe I'm giving a government entity a four star rating on anything, but here it is! I lost my title to a motorcycle and had to go get it replaced. I haven't been down to the tag office in several years and found that they had moved it within the complex. 1. It was well marked from the outside so I had no issue funding the "new" office. 2. It was clean and well organized. 3. It was FRIENDLY!!!! 4. I didn't know it, but it opens at seven, at least during the summer. I walked in, was greeted at the service desk, they made sure I had the right paper work, and sent me straight to the proper place. And they even had seats to sit down in when you are at the counter! What a change.... The lady who processed my title was extremely friendly as well. The service was five star. i deducted one star because they have to mail the title and you didn't get it on site. That service is available, but down by the airport. I'm just happy yo see my tax dollars paying smiling people, instead of the grumps that I had come to expect! Time to change my expectations! read more

Well, yet another stellar experience at a, dare I say, Tax Office. Though recent history has produced mixed feelings and experiences in dealing with city government, state employees who desperately need a vacation (or complete career reboot), and unrealistic requirements for simplistic transactions, my most recent experience is one that left a rather good taste in my mouth. That's right -- Fulton County has done it again. After moving back to Atlanta, I figured reinstating our GA plate would be simple... and it was. Tried to do so online and then proceeded to call in to resolve my issue with renewing our registration. Got a call back. Paid fees. Told registration and decal were in the mail. A month goes by. Multiple calls back to the office/same person. No result. Silence. Unresponsiveness ensues. Frustration builds. Hawking the mail room on a regular basis awaiting our registration. Sadness sets in. Overtly confounded by the lack of its arrival. I gave up and finally decided to drive to the one place I initially refused to visit -- The Fulton County Tax Office on Roswell. To my delight, I walked in, took a number, waited for less than five minutes, approached the window, the gentleman pulled up my record, printed my registration/decal, handed it through the window, and I LEFT. AND THERE WAS MUCH REJOICING THROUGHOUT THE LAND. read more

After nearly three years of living in Atlanta, I figured it was about time to get my car registered. Well, actually, my parents did. But anyhoo, the process was much more painless than I expected it to be. This building is nice and new and clean and it was super easy to find what I was looking for. You go to the receptionist, she checks to make sure you've got everything you need, and then you wait for an available teller. It took me about 10 minutes when all was said and done. A couple of notes: -it's cash/check only, which is lame-o, but they've got an ATM upstairs if you need it. Plus it's up where traffic court is so you get to see all the 16 year olds sweating it over their failure to yield tickets (trust me, I've been there). -read up online to make sure you've got all of the forms you need. But, if you do forget something, they're happy to give you their fax number so you can get whatever you need. read more

"Taxes! Taxes! Beautiful, lovely taxes! Ah-hah! Ah-hah!" -- Robin Hood (1973) In and out in a flash - who knew? They have revamped this location for anything related to your tag and it is so streamlined now. The staff is friendlier, but still leaves a bit to be desired - but they are government workers and someone has to do those jobs. So I cut them some slack. I'm in there every 6 months and my visit is usually only 5 to 10 minutes and pretty painless. The ladies are usually pretty nice to me as I am prepared with everything I need, paperwork filled out and drivers license at the ready. Have all your papers and a checkbook in hand (if needed) and this should be a painless experience. read more

Seems I'm not the only one who was so impressed with a government facility that I said to myself "I'll yelp about this". Seriously though, was about the tenth person in the queue at the Probate Court and was still out of there in 10 minutes. This is unheard of. Additionally, the employees actually seemed HAPPY. It was like the twilight zone of City/County offices. Helpful staff, convenient location -- the system should work like this more often. read more

I was very pleasantly surprised by the speed, cleanliness, efficiency and cost of registering my vehicles after moving from California to Georgia. I must note that before visiting the office I did go online to make sure I had all of the documents, inspection and insurance details taken care of before going to the office. This is an important step. I showed up around lunchtime on a Friday. Yes, the entire process did take about an hour, but in California it would have been an all-day process replete with surprisingly rude service, exceptional levels of ambient noise and a parking experience that can only be described as predatory.. The cost for transferring titles on two cars and two motorcycles plus registration on the two cars was only $112. I even went into the restroom at the facility and it was acceptably clean. In California you feel like you have to put on a hazmat suit before you enter the office. And you still have to use multiple hand wipes before you return to your vehicle. I do still love L.A., but I'd rather register my vehicles at the Fulton County Tag Office any day! read more

I've made quite a few visits here for voting, taxes, tags, etc. and the service is decent for government employees. They range from not particularly hateful to mildly friendly, which is a relief in contrast to other county offices where the employees have been aggressively and unjustifiably rude. On this visit I was there for early voting and the volunteers were very friendly and the hour-long wait was well organized -- they'd done a lot to minimize discomfort, ensure efficiency, prevent abuse, etc. and handled the large number of voters quite well. read more

I've been to this tag office in the past and their service is fast and friendly. Actually the most pleasant experience I've had at a tag/tax office in Atlanta. However, the hours of operation listed in Yelp are incorrect. This office is open Mon thru Fri 8:30am - 4:30pm. read more

Once you find it, this office is the fastest government facility I've ever run through. The office is not well marked, so look for a sign about "Big Tree Forest Preserve" and go through the double doors. I went to this location on a Monday morning around 11 a.m. and was out literally within 10 minutes. Hooray Fulton County for making paying taxes easy! (although the ease doesn't offset the cost!) read more

Went in last Monday to move an old Civic from Tennessee (where DMV equates to slow death!) to Georgia (where this office has been a picture of speed and efficiency!). Ms. Traylor (Trayler?) is a recent transplant from Riverside, California, and she facilitated this transaction in a manner that can only be described as SUPERIOR. Cost was less than expected, and time investment was minimal. This office, and Ms. Traylor, have my full support! read more

The people are super friendly and HELPFUL, the service is expedient and I got a chance to stare ZaZa Pachuli in the face : )

The fulton county tag office is awful!! Roswell road office is horrible!! It starts with the gentleman that greets you at the door! This guy treats you like your in prison. He's very rude and unfriendly. Down right disrespectful. Does not smile and treats you like your beneath him. I will never come to this office again. He has no personable skills and very customer unfriendly! He should be fired with how he talks to people. I'm here waiting in a long line and don't need to be talked to like crap period. read more

It is a tag office so there's only but so much you should expect anyway. It's like saying "Yeah, I hope this funeral is gonna be a blast." None the less, the process is a painless as can be. All of the workers seem competent and very familiar with the system. Everyone was polite and pretty nice. The AC works and they move people in and out very quickly. They are patient and willing to work with you. Tthere's even a playroom for children. What more can you ask for? read more

I went to this location to get my new plates today around lunch time. Despite the fact that they have plenty of signs in the parking lot, it was still difficult to locate the tag office from all the other county offices with separate entrances all over each side of the building. When I finally found it, I was very surprised to see that the place was practically empty. I thought "Jackpot! This is going to be the easiest trip to a givernment office in the history of my life!" Not so fast. As soon as I got in the door, a man behind a glass window said "Cash only. We don't take credit or debit cards." I said "Ok, so where is your ATM?" He replied "We don't got one...it broke." I rolled my eyes and said "That's brilliant." In a huff, I left the office, got back in my car and drove to Walgreens a mile up the road. I took out some money and drove back to the office. Once I got back there with my cash, the whole procedure coulndn't have been more easy and pleasant. I showed them the required papers, they took my money and handed me a license plate. All in about 10 minutes flat. Even though the process was very quick and streamlined and there was hardly a wait, I have to give them 2 stars because it's 2011 and they still don't take credit or debit cards. I think I passed a kid's lemonade stand this morning that took credit cards. These days, I didn't think there was any place of business or government office that took money yet didn't have this capability. read more

This place is awful. I am fresh out of college and I don't know how all of this car tag and car title stuff works and they certainly don't help me at the Fulton County Tag Office. They treat me like I am stupid and they don't explain things clearly. I have been to the tag office 4 times now and I still don't have my car tag. Every time I am missing some important document that no one told me I needed. Now, I am driving around with an expired tag waiting for the tag office to confirm they have received my car title. Somehow, I think I will still not have everything I need once they call me. I don't understand why the government makes things that everyone has to do so complicated. read more

I can't believe I am leaving a 5 star review for a government office. But what an easy and quick experience. Painless - besides the check I hadto write. There is signage on Roswell indicating that the office is coming up. Note: there are two parking lots (north and south). You want north if you are going to the tag office. I didn't know that and went in the wrong building. Luckily the guard noticed how lost I was and directed me to the correct place. When you enter the office, you meet the receptionist (I guess that is appropriate term?) who asks what you are in for and checks if you have the needed materials. You are then given a number and sit down to wait. I didn't have to wait very long and the lady who helped me was very nice. I asked if it was this slow all the time or if I just came at a good time. She said it was always pretty slow. Since I had all the needed paperwork, I had no issues getting my license plate. I think I was only in the office for about 15 minutes. Wow! Hopefully, I never have to go into a tag office again, but if I do...I am going to this location. read more

This office is easy to find, easy to park, and service is efficient and quick. Plus really nice people there.

I haven't had a good experience with Fulton county. I work in Alpharetta and looked online at local tag offices that were posted on the website. Almost all were not in business anymore, and when I tried to contact the tag office over the phone I was put on hold for 45 minutes before I finally just hung up. I'm going to try the Sandy Springs office. Hopefully they will have a little better customer service. read more

If there is any need for further proof of why government doesn't work, just attempt getting answers to specific questions about vehicle tags and titles over the telephone. Following an unacceptably long time on hold, the employee I spoke with was so inept, illiterate and inattentive I had no other choice but to ask for a supervisor. When I politely did so the government employee hung-up the phone on me. Government employees are public servants to the taxpayers. The taxpayer is not a servant to the government employee. read more
