If you want really good CNAs and Drs for your aging parent this is not the place. Communication is horrific with both.

Now I would not recommend staying there for over a week or two. Although the staff are nice, they are overloaded with patients and can have 9 patients at a time. The food is barely tolerable and they make mistakes with orders. If you need water it can take close to an hour before you get it. The PT/OT staff are the only good thing about this facility. The nurses are nice too but too busy to tend to the patients except for giving meds. I would rate this place about 2.4/5.

Their positive attitude and commitment to patient care was evident. The nurse, Mathew was always willing to go the extra mile and his dedication was truly inspiring, Dr. John's and Nursing Manager, Therese's passion and understanding of our pain, Charu and Marie's, the PT and OT's willingness to work with him, social worker, Meagan's guidance and patience, Heather, the nursing assistant becoming his buddy, all of the reception desk staff (Unfortunately only remember Monica's name) made his long stay there possible. I do not know the names of all who helped him, but both my husband and I are grateful to Stern Rehab Facility as a whole.

Previously, she was in a different rehab facility. From what I can tell, Rockville is head & shoulders above the rest! Due to the virus, I have never been inside the facility. The exterior is well-maintained. From what I can see, the Reception area is modern and beautiful. My angel says the rooms are VERY nice! Given that I can't see my loved one, communication is so much more important. I want to full-throatedly commend the following people: Susan Welge (Administrator), Martine Samuels (Director of Nursing), Madonna (Nursing Supervisor), Nanci Waldman (Director of Admissions), Wendi Richards (Director of Social Services), Iana Casareno (MDS Coordinator), Amanda Fischetto (Executive Assistant), Debbie Bowden (Recreation Director), Kristi Barth (Director of Food Services) and Faith (Dietician), Pia Fucarino (Rehabilitation Director) and Dana (Speech & Swallow Therapist.) If I forgot anybody I am sorry. Also want to thank the various nurses and nursing aides. One in particular (Kathleen I believe) recently gave my angel her first shower in months. That is how long she was in and out of hospitals, er's and rehab facilities. Residents get sponge baths daily. Debbie (along with Kathleen) cut the knots out of her hair. It was knotted BEFORE Rockville. Rockville saw it and swiftly addressed it. Wish all companies were run like Rockville! The staff calls ME, instead of me having to call THEM! They are very proactive and always available. When she first arrived, I spoke with Nanci Waldman In Admissions. She explained the process. Then Susan Welge called, introducing herself. Wendy Richards was in touch soon after. Then Debbie Bowden. Debbie also set up a video chat so that I could see my sweetheart. That did us both a world of good. Thank you much Debbie! Get weekly calls from Susan and the staff. On a recent Sunday (her day off!), Susan went in to comfort my angel who was having a hard time dealing psychologically with her conditions. FYI, residents are tested for covid once a week, staff twice a week. Everybody is just a call or email away. They actually respond to you. They do not brush you or the resident's concerns off. Issues get communicated to management and resolved in a timely fashion. Everybody imho has been wonderful. Iana is great explaining medications and the discharge hospital's instructions and interfacing with doctors. Martine said if I have any issues to please have her paged. We have communicated many times by email and phone. Got several calls from Kristi and Dana about dietary restrictions and swallowing issues. Amanda (who will likely answer your call at the Front Desk) is also the Transportation Coordinator. You can hear the smile in her voice! She is very sweet and kind! She arranged an ambulette, driver and aide to take my angel to 2 important medical appointments. One is in Manhattan and one local. I'm amazed at how quickly she set them up! Doctors visit Rockville weekly. Susan even arranged for a company called Sight Rite to come and check her vision. They did. They are also able to dispense glasses. PT and OT have been fantastic. Goal is to get her walking like she did before her hospitalizations. They got her walking 20 steps in her room. That is a miracle! They also strengthen her legs and arms with resistance bands. She is making progress. Eventually they will get her to the on-site gym for more intensive PT. If I ever need a place like this, Rockville will be my first choice! Can't say enough good things. The communication is of utmost importance to me. Susan assured me my heart and soul will get plenty of TLC! Check them out at rockvillerehab.com. You will see a very highly-educated, accomplished and dedicated staff. Thank you ALL. Rockville is NE PLUS ULTRA!

Our primary thought behind out of home treatment was based on a on going infection which we chose to have round the clock monitoring. *ADMINISTRATORS- Admissions Director PJ was our first contact. He provided a tour without an appt (walk in) as well as an in depth summation of the organization, services and resources. PJ was consistently in communication, available , responsive, supportive and followed all the way through on all our needs outside of admissions. Samantha who assisted us with Medicare awareness and Medicare file management to best suit our family needs. Johana & Samantha reflect the leadership for sure. *NURSING- Director Elaine we also made acquaintance on day 1 tour. She was friendly & welcoming. She had great questions about our medical needs. We communicated our goals & expectations. She was extremely receptive & supportive through to the end. Assistant Director Bambi certainly follows leadership. She attended our frequent meetings for update. Thank you to the entire team. *OCCUPATIONAL & SPEECH THERAPY. Director Namesh. One miscommunication. It was not clear of the process to take our family out for follow ups. We over came quickly and professionally. Thank the young man who trained us on how to place our family into the minivan. (Braids or dreads, we regretfully did not get his name). We can say that the team here will secure your loved one. We saw concern. Thank you. *SOCIAL SERVICES - Susan is leadership here. She was available upon our admission from the hospital. That's when we met. Susan is always available. She responds to email quickly. I did not have her direct extension so I emailed. She responded or showed up at the room to speak with us. Thank you. *DAILY CARE- Judy is our favorite of the bunch. Judy we are so thankful for bathing Dad, clipping his nails, your genuine patience with him, shaving his beard and dressing him. May the Good Lord Bless you and your family with Abundant Favor for your display of care. *LOCATION: Situated on a very narrow residential street. Pro-Private parking is available behind the building. Pro-Provides well light parking area. Cons- trash incinerator leaks drainage which obstructs the walkway from parking area to the building. Yikes! We suggest moving that compactor to another location asap. It's creepy & foul even in the winter. *ENTRANCE:Always secured with a friendly greeting. Weekends included. Check in and check out is consistently done. The driveway is always accessible. Given a designated area for pick up and drop off which made it easy to bring our family member in/out for follow up doctor visits. *CLEANLINESS:Parking- was lots snow so we did not observe trash cleanup. *Entrance, Lobby, Gym, Communal Recreational Room & hallways - always clean free from debris starting early morning to evenings. No odors. *Room- we would give a thumbs up here. Continuously kept. No odors. No dust. All equipment and furniture are functional and in great condition. Side note, warm and toasty during the winter. No drafts. Room curtain are there for privacy. *ROOM BATHROOM- was maintained but can be better. Our first shared patient was great. We understand that each occupant has different needs, however our with second shared patient had an orange/yellow residue left in the restroom. We had residue in the tile grouts and a left over odor after cleaning. *FOOD:To our surprise, the food was tasty and presented well. (Yes, we tasted what they served to our family). Kudos to the food & beverage team for consistent , above average meals. Service times are consistent and food is hot at service. Kudos to the 1st floor team who we observed multi tasking to ensure food service was not disrupted every day. OVERALL, this organization provided services beyond our expectations. We are a very involved & active family. Day in, day out, every hour of the day, we had a positive experience.

My family didn't place dad there blindly, it was by choice, after weighing all the options. We have a family member who is a long term resident there currently as well as a long time family friend who is there too. They love the care they receive and the staffers they receive it from. Their recommendations were well received. From the moment I entered the front door and was greeted by the front desk attendant Lana, I knew dad was in a great, loving, caring and Holy place. I went up to dad's floor, was greeted by every staff member I passed. Not just on my first visit, but every visit. No matter how busy they were, every single person said hello. As time went on, those greetings were by name. It truly felt like dad was being cared for by loving family. My visits only lasted a week or so as I live about 700 miles away, but my experience and my opinions of my dad's treatment are fact based. He could not have received better care anywhere else. The facility was spotless, well maintained and the staff all love why they do. It takes a special kind of person to do this work. Ozanam is blessed with the best. Ozanam is even updating the rooms one floor at a time. It's nice to see the investment back into the facilities. The office staff was extremely helpful, kind and very communicative. They assisted in every way possible, making the daunting logistics of dealing with the insurance companies a less daunting part of the experience. I could not ask for better! I'd like to name everyone I met there who cared for me dad and assisted my family throughout, but I would have to name every person in the public eye as well as everyone behind the scenes there. By God's plan, my dad, Donald B. declined due to advancing medical conditions. He received great personal care and was treated with dignity up to and beyond when he took his final breath. He passed on Sept 22, peacefully in his sleep. The staffers who knew him were as sad as we are. Thank you to everyone at Ozanam Hall of Queens for all you do for every person in your care every day. May continue to God bless you all. Please keep doing what you do!!! You all are absolutely incredible. Rest easy dad! God's got you!

When my grandmother was in a coma here for nearly 19 months, she received variable care. Don't get me wrong, some of the CNA's and PCA's were extremely kind and caring, but others just did not care. Being in a coma, my grandmother could not be her own health care advocate and sometimes the staff would "forget" to change her or just not pay any attention to the status of her health unless one of my family members or myself brought it up to their attention. I stayed with my grandmother over night one time where the unit is staffed with only maybe 2 or 3 nurses and it infuriated me. During the early hours, the nurses were sleeping in the rec area or in the nurses station. It was sad.
