All of a sudden, I was too much of a risk for them, even though the mistake I made was an honest one where a law appeared to be applied differently from where I had come from. After a few decades of being a good customer, with a clean record, I was simply dropped. Anyway, other than things running smoothly for the last 10 years or so with Allstate, what stands out to me was how smoothly a fender bender was handled, with no jump in my premium. Like clockwork. I only have good thoughts of Allstate... ... well, except for their equivalent of AAA. Being alone in the dark on a strange road and having to explain where I was to someone in India was ... choice. I switched to AAA, despite the supervisor's best efforts to help me. He told me he made 20 calls before finding a towing company willing to come out. Later, I learned from a AAA towing company that Allstate and multiple other insurance companies use, even on new cars, a service which, for some reason, doesn't treat their towing companies right, so towing companies aren't quick to accept jobs.
