Trust me, I tested a lot with Dr. Pav before deciding to undergo treatment with her. She is more knowledgeable than even specialists in some cases, and staff here are nice! Due to my L3-L4, L4-L5, and L5-S1 issues, I wasn't able to sit for even one hour without experiencing 10/10 pain. I already had constant 4/10 pain from L3-S1 whenever I sat, which increased the longer I remained seated. On top of that, I sometimes experienced immediate sharp pain after long periods of sitting or certain movements, as the nerves around L3-L4 would get poked due to Cauda Equina involvement. After 32 sessions focusing on L3-L4, I can now sit about 2 hours and perform daily activities more easily than before. But note: this is a journey, not an instant fix. No doctor can make you 100% again after a herniated or damaged disc. You will still have limitations even after many treatments, but my life feels a little more hopeful now. I still have 24 sessions for my L5-S1 and 24 sessions for my neck. Hopefully, I will be able to sit for 3 hours after that. I believe this is a realistic goal considering my condition because there are surgeons who are saying I should do a surgery but it could also do more harm than good due to my young age.

Dr. Danielle Hoeffner has blessed my life with her hands. I pinched a nerve in my back and was in the type of pain that I can only describe being as intense as my worst contractions when I was in labor with my twins. Dr. Danielle was very honest with me about relief expectations. She told me relief could be as short as 5min or it could be much longer. I started having severe back pain the week of Thanksgiving (2016). I thought it would clear up on…read moreits own, it always had in the past. But when the pain continued into early 2017, I decided to seek Chiropractic help. April Chiropractic & Wellness was the closest chiropractor to my home that took my insurance. They also had hours that extended beyond my workday which allowed me to set up an appointment after work and not miss a day. I was all in. During my first visit to Dr. Aprile's office, the staff took a series of x-rays, provided their initial thoughts and gave me a quick treatment (like five minutes or less). A followup appointment was set for a week later. I left this first appointment feeling somewhat better physically but with still no answers. At my followup appointment, Dr. Aprile ran through the x-rays with me and showed me exactly why I was having pain in my back. He told me that he had never seen a case this severe and needed to do some research to help me figure out my next steps (because Aprile Chiropractic & Wellness couldn't perform every task that would be needed for my recovery). Dr. Aprile really made it sound like this was a research project he couldn't wait to tackle. I received another treatment and then left after setting up an appointment for two weeks later. At this third appointment, Dr. Aprile came with a list of places I could go in order to take the next steps in my recovery. He asked if I needed him to contact any of those places right while I was in his office. I said no, I could do it on my own. Before this meeting I had ordered a product on Amazon that I thought might help. Dr. Aprile took more x-rays and gave me instantaneous feedback on the product. He said that things were better with this product but still not as good as they needed to be. He also was very upfront that insurance wasn't going to cover one of the tests he was performing and that I would get a letter in the mail from my insurance company but that his clinic would eat the cost of it. I took Dr. Aprile's advice and got a referral to one of the clinics in the area that could help me with my next step. After visiting that clinic and getting treatment, I am going on five months of no back pain and am back to be my active self (running, playing softball, lifting my daughter, etc.). I am very grateful for the interest Dr. Aprile and his staff took in me and their willingness to go above and beyond to help treat my back pain. If all doctors took this approach, the medical field would have a much better reputation.
