I recently had the unfortunate experience of learning how to drive with Vinney. From start to finish, my time with Vinney was filled with frustration and a lack of professionalism.
Vinney's teaching methods were incredibly outdated. Instead of providing clear explanations and helpful techniques, he relied on raising his voice and belittling me whenever I made mistakes. This approach did nothing to build my confidence or improve my driving skills. Instead, it only served to create unnecessary stress and anxiety, which is the last thing you want when learning to drive.
He lacked patience, understanding and is extremely condescending, this was evident throughout each lesson. He told me that it was normal to make mistakes and that I am here to learn, however when mistakes occurred he displayed irritability, impatience and would put me down. His negative attitude only hindered my progress and make me dread each lesson.
In addition to his poor teaching style, he would arrive late and cancel lessons, often leaving me waiting and wasting my time. It showed a complete lack of professionalism and disrespect for my commitment to learning.
In my opinion, as someone who works in Learning and Development, Vinney lacks the patience and empathy required to effectively teach and nurture a new driver's skills. Instead of understanding the anxieties and challenges faced by a beginner, he creates a stressful and difficult environment. When telling him what I did for a living, he proceeded to mock me during our very first lesson. Unfortunately I had to stick with it, as I had paid for bulk lessons in advance but quickly realised what kind of person I was going to have to deal with. I decided to keep my cool and do things his way, until the day I asked for a refund for the lessons he had cancelled last minute.
Immediately after mentioning the word refund, instead of addressing the issue professionally, Vinney got incredible defensive and angry over the phone and refused to take any responsibility for his actions. He has a disturbing need to always be right and refuses to acknowledge any mistakes or shortcomings on his part. His unprofessionalism extended to every aspect of his business dealings, not replying to emails or messages, having to chase him multiple times, incorrect calculations of the refund amount, hanging up etc.
I strongly advise anyone considering Fulham Driving School not to pay for bulk lessons in advance and to avoid Vinney at all cost. I have truly been left feeling cheated and disrespected, as I have not received the full refund amount that I believe I should have been owed. There are other great instructors our there who genuinely care about their student's progress and emotional safety. read more
