I called in in need of my payroll taxes reduced as I knew I was paying too much per paycheck. I was booked for an appointment super quick., Madina realized I'm in Maryland and opted to do a virtual meeting. She actually gave me a great discount and the price was way below what I thought I would pay. They advised it would be $55 for 15 mins. They stuck to exactly what they promised. In addition, I had quite a few follow-up questions and some adjustments had to be made after my initial virtual meeting. They didn't inconvenience me by making me meet again, Madina got things taken care of and only called me to advise that my questions were resolved. She offered to meet again for free if I wanted to speak to the CPA again. I was not ever charged for additional work or time to re-review the questions I had. They fixed every single concern/issue. My payroll taxes are now reduced. I'm thrilled and grateful for the outcome of using this CPA company.The best part, Madina did it with the most gracious and kind attitude. Kindness is for sure her super power. I would recommend this company 10 times over! If you're thinking about using this company, reach out to Madina!!! She will get you taken care of promptly, kindly, and handle all of your needs/concerns without missing a beat.

During my first appointment with Make my Day I was met initially with an the CPA's assistant who…read moretook all my forms (which they had asked for) and talked to me for some time. This was weird because over the phone the appointment was said to be made with the CPA herself. So just be sure when you make an appointment that you know who it's with and what will occur. The assistant after looking at all my tax papers gave me a quote for $350- 375, then a quote for $450- 475, then a quote for $550- 575, then was told that I would you would need to charge by the hour to look at one thing. I'm a small business owner, and they advertise specializing in small bushiness, so I'm not really understanding that why I would need to pay her to research something like that. For each increase in price I was told that it was because she didn't notice that my taxes would require "additional work" in certain areas. She gave me the first quote after looking at all of my papers and no new information was provided the first quote to the then open ended quote of apparently I'm guessing $550 + hourly, but we don't know how many hours? Not a great way to run a business in my opinion. I liked the CPA but when it comes down to it they're going to have to run their business like a business- they can't increase the price 4 times during a meeting. They should be able to read the forms, ask some questions, give an estimate. (Edit: I don't have a ton of "issues" as the buisness owner below says, I'm just a small business owner. In fact the first increase was because "they didn't know they needed a schedule c" even I know that and I wasn't pressuring them for a quick estimate, I was happy to answer any questions). Also, the office setting is not professional. It has a really bare bones feeling. We met in the lobby (I would a private setting) and sofa was super uncomfortable, painfully so. They say that people can come in and DIY taxes with someone helping to answer questions but the little cubicles were totally empty while I was in the office- probably because this DIY area had absolutely nothing to offer- they didn't even have coffee! How can someone focus on taxes without coffee!!? (Edit: yes I brought the end of my coffee at first but did need more and didn't know they had any- I couldn't see it, I did look for it).

Our landlord has a contract with them for this property of his and his…read morehouse and they've been amazing and prompt with every AC issue we've had, even when they're swamped with heat waves like the current one. 99% of the technicians we've had, even if it's just the seasonal check of our system have been great. Just want to comment about today. Read on if you want. But, know that overall, I highly recommend them While I didn't catch the name of this morning's tech, I have to admit he's partially the impetus for this review. If you get him--he's tall, about 6 feet with glasses and long salt & pepper hair that's in a low bun--just know he's incredibly straightforward and blunt. Our AC hadnt been working for about 36 hours and while I IMMENSELY appreciate his coming out today, when I asked him a question about something our thermostat's been doing he interrupted and said "oh you have the heat on" like that'd been the issue. It wasn't. I had to cut him off and explain the thermostat, installed by Pepco years before we moved in, goes to that first before you click the button one more time to get it to AC. How did he not assume that? He went outside to check our actual AC unit and then came back around, saying "you've got a bad compressor". When I asked if that was an easy fix, because I didn't know, he scoffed and said "yeah, i've got one in the truck. Same blunt, kind of dismissive "why don't you know that" tone. Sorry for asking, yeesh.

Avoid Rod Miller. My experience was terrible. I am 74 yrs old sweltering in heat in Chevy Chase…read morew/ a dead A/C unit. I needed a new HVAC unit asap in my high rise condo. I called them. I made a decision to purchase, then next day the sales person called me and tells, "someone else bought my unit!" A larger company bought up stock. I make another decision on a different larger HVAC unit, (more expensive hmmm). I call the VP ( Brandon Tolbert) for reassurance this "disappearing unit" will not happen again...and he SHOUTS at ME, and insinuates things I never said. Unbelievably unprofessional and abusive. I told him to stop shouting at me, saying untrue things.....he does not listen. Mr Tolbert, lost his temper and HUNG UP on me! WOW I'm so happy this miserable customer service experience happened before I could buy from Rod Miller. I can only imagine how they treat people when the HVAC unit goes bad. Too bad, Daddy Tolbert is the President...and his son is VP wand will probably never be held accountable for his actions with customers.
