To follow up, after a busy day, we had a 3pm yum cha at the Golden Dragon Chinese Restaurant located in the Geelong CBD. What a delight! The kitchen was technically shut when we arrived, but the lovely staff were happy to keep it open for us. We lunched on the classics: ginger prawn dumplings, shark fin and scallop dumplings and vegetarian spring rolls cooked to crispy perfection. When Twosheds' eyes were bigger than what could be eaten, our lovely attentive staff member happily converted remaining food to take away. The surroundings here are fantastic too. Located in an old gold rush bank building. Recommended. 4.0

The pork dumplings are always so juicy inside and the staff are super friendly. The interior design harks back to when the building used to be a bank and it is well lit with lots of natural lighting. They are always…read morefairly quick to bring meals out and the food is good (a somewhat authentic taste for an Australianized Thai restaurant). Most of the staff have minimal english, which adds to the authentic experience but can cause some service problems. They can get pretty busy at times (eg. Friday evening) when the take away orders pile in, but you normally wouldn't wait more than 20 mins to be served a sit-down meal. Bamboo style brass cutlery is a nice touch and chop-sticks are available if you feel the urge to use them (they do have a small selection of malay and chinese on the menu). ps. the dining room is fairly small so booking is normally a good idea.

The food was fine but I wont bother going through the order because the service was so slow and disorganised its just not worth it. We waited over 30 minutes for drinks. I asked for a glass of wine three times after the 30 minutes before it showed up. At about the hour mark 2 out of the three mains showed up. The guy had only put in one of our two dumpling orders so the other came after the mains. We decided against refilling drinks or getting any dessert since we were already at the 90 minute mark and didnt want to spend another 45.
