We coordinated (ok, my wife coordinated) a pickup from our curb with them and I have to say it was the smoothest donation process yet. We've done things in the past with a few other organizations that were good, but not as communicative. This group called when they were 30 minutes out, wrote up a receipt and left it with us (all masked up during Covid) and took every single item. When you're clearing out, I feel like there are three tiers: Sell; thing like our newer dresser, bed frame, and other items that people are always going to need. We used FB Marketplace and sold each item in 24 hours or less. Donate; items that might be more niche like art, TV stands, end tables that need a little love, etc. That's where we utilized Habitat. Scrap/trash: We utilize KCMO's large trash pickup and while they have skipped it a time or two, it's pretty good overall. I haven't been into their store to shop around myself, at least not yet, but it seems promising. Highly recommend if you have donations that you can't load or haul yourself!

TLDR: The Local Guy Pest Service was reasonably priced, honest, and did great work. I will…read morerecommend them to everyone! Long version: My lawn mower called to tell me he "found" a nest of yellow jackets burrowed into the ground when he ran over it with his lawnmower. Fortunately he is ok and only got stung once when they swarmed out because he started taking his weed whacker to them. It was after hours when he called me so I couldn't do anything about it until the next day. I did some research and made a few phone calls, then created a Yelp project as well. Several places returned my call and insisted on doing monthly maintenance after the initial treatment, even though I insisted I wanted them gone the first time they came and didn't want to do anything monthly. I'm not unrealistic, I know it is a HUGE hazard and a big deal to get rid of the any type of hornet, but some of the prices I was being quoted were equivalent to car payments, and the others didn't offer options without the monthly fees. I was getting discouraged by how much many places were fear mongering and trying to upsell me, so on Saturday I called up the lawn guy to see if he was still willing to get rid of them for me (he had offered to take carte of them himself, but I didn't want him getting swarmed and stung again so I told him to let me make some calls first). He was hesitant, but was still willing to do it. He was going to do some checking to see what he needed to do and how and let me know how much he needed for supplies and do it the next week. Skip ahead to Sunday afternoon. On Sunday one of the companies I had called, The Local Guy Pest Control, called me back and immediately apologized for taking so long to return my call (he had been out of town). No worries, I understand that. It is a small, local, family owned business where the owner himself comes out to do the service. Great! I love to support small businesses! How much to get rid of the problem and what will you do? (By now I had a pretty good idea of what it would take to kill the colony and destroy the nest, courtesy of bee and wasp handlers form all over the country posting videos online.) The owner showed up at my house bright and early on Tuesday, within 24 hours of me agreeing to use his service Monday morning. He was at my house for about 30 minutes and got rid of the colony, then treated the nest so any stragglers who were already out for the day would die when they returned. He was fast, thorough, and efficient. The price was very reasonable for the amount of time and risk involved in the job, AND he assured me that monthly maintenance was definitely NOT needed. He offered a guarantee on his services, so if I notice renewed activity I can simply call him back to take care of it. Tuesday night I let my lawn mower know the deed was done and that he didn't need to worry about doing it. He returned Wednesday evening to mow, so I checked in with him on the status of the nest. He reported back that not one single yellow jacket came out of the hole they were in, so all was well. SO many thanks to The Local Guy Pest Service! My mom is allergic and my dog is small, so this was literally a life-saving service for them! I will go to The Local Guy Pest Service first for ALL of my future needs, you have earned a new repeat customer with this one.

Long story short, it was a really ruff patch in my life and I wanted to accept responsibility for my past , get my messes cleaned up and take care of it. I of course was very nervous! I reached out to the law office of Camron Hoorfer and Mr. Hoorfer and his team took my case and immediately got to work! With in a week I had my license back and in less than a month had me in court for my felony case and got my warrant taken care of with out doing any jail time and settled my case with an outcome more satisfactory than I expected! Zero jail time! Mr. Hoorfer and his team are very professional! There communication skills are a higher class! Serious Concerns Regarding Communication, Billing, and Case Handling:…read more Our experience with the Law Office of Camron Hoorfar, P.C. concerning a property-related lawsuit was deeply disappointing. We retained the firm to prepare and file a petition regarding 10212 Belmont Avenue, paid $7,000 in advances, and repeatedly authorized the firm to proceed with filing. Despite repeated statements that the petition was complete, ready to file, or required only minor revisions, the lawsuit was never filed before the firm terminated the representation. We also experienced significant confusion concerning who the firm represented. The written fee agreement identified myself as "Client," the firm communicated legal strategy directly with him, sent him the petition for substantive review, billed for reviewing his comments, and repeatedly sought his authorization before filing. Later, however, the firm characterized Terren as the sole client and Lonnie as a third-party payor, while also stating in writing that "you are both our clients." Those positions were difficult to reconcile and were never adequately explained. We have serious concerns about the handling of the case materials and billing. The firm billed attorney time to download the evidence repository, but the drafting attorney later appeared not to have access to important folders and documents. The client file returned to us also appeared materially incomplete. We additionally identified discrepancies between the attorney time billed for petition drafting and the recorded editing metadata in several petition drafts, including drafts identifying automated document-generation tools as the creator. The firm terminated the representation shortly after we requested the complete file, trust accounting, billing support, call recordings, preservation of relevant evidence, and limitations on further billing pending review. We now dispute all fees paid and have requested a complete accounting and supporting documentation. We cannot recommend this firm based on our experience. Clients considering representation should ensure that the engagement agreement clearly identifies every client, obtain written confirmation of filing deadlines and case status, request regular complete copies of the client file, and closely review invoices and trust-account activity throughout the representation. We paid $7,000 to have a petition created and a lawsuit filed, only to receive an A.I. generated petition and withdrawal after we questioned the billing, which totaled over $8,790 billed with no lawsuit even filed or being even ready to file.
