I liked it. It is on the smaller side, but there is still a variety of genres. While it is called frugal, just be aware that the prices are not super frugal unless you're buying from the sale section (however, you are buying from a local and black owned business so if you are avid reader like myself you may walk out of here with at least two books and be supporting your locally owned businesses in the process). I bought a Selena book in Spanish from sale section $7 and a James Baldwin novel for ~ $8. Also, the Saturday evening I came, there was a book club meeting in session which is great. They have a little kids section too which is awesome. I also really liked the other items the store sells: super cute hand bags, personalized bookmarks, and clothing items). Go check it out!

My order from Frugal Bookstore arrived pretty quickly from their efficient website. Shop local/indie!

We shopped around for a few minutes before being taken upstairs to be seated for brunch. The menu was varied and everyone found something that was exactly what they wanted. I had the the French toast and it was delicious. They also have a huge selection of fresh juices, smoothies, and shakes. I tried one called the Geoffrey that I loved. Our waiter was great as was the staff downstairs in the bookstore.

We walked by, not realizing that Trident was open. Then we saw a woman seated at the table by the window sipping her coffee! So we counted out lucky stars and walked right in! We walked around the bookstore first. So much to browse here - the staff recs! I've already read some, some are on my tbr list but some are new to me! Will take note of the new titles. We moseyed over to the cafe and ordered the potato chuckwagon. You can order using the QR code or with the paper menu. Both are so easy! It was the most delicious breakfast for us - the eggs were poached perfectly with runny yolks. We cleaned our plate! Highly recommend! Will definitely come back!!

You may think I'm crazy, but my favorite part about Boston was this bookstore. It absolutely took…read moremy breath away! It is the cutest place ever, from their squirrel mascot, to the fireplace on each floor, to the windows on each end of the rooms that lit the rooms with sunlight, it truly had such a relaxing vibe. I loved the decor and how they converted the house into 4 stories of epic cuteness galore! Each floor had different genres of books, with the top floor (5th) housing the staff only area. The 4th floor has the children's/young adult books and I love how there are so many fun elements there, from the train that goes around the top by the ceiling, to the small red door that I think it just there for decoration? Unless it leads to some magical other part of the building... lol The ground level has a cafe and offers typical cafe food like sandwiches, soups and salads, but I think their specialty is breakfast/brunch items as well as afternoon tea. We wanted to sit down and enjoy a warm drink after our book browsing and were lucky that we were able to get seated right away, as shortly after there were larger parties coming in for brunch. Fully wheelchair accessible with access through the cafe, there is an elevator that will take you to all levels. There is one restroom on the 4th floor that is also accessible.

The notes from the staff on their picks are really helpful too. Reminds me of the independent bookstores in the UK. This kids floor is also great with toys, including a toy train, and a fireplace. Two bathrooms too on this floor and the bottom floor.

They have such an amazing mission, and I highly recommend people look into this nonprofit to learn more on how to support! This review is for their Boston store--an open, spacious thrift and book store. They have a great selection, from affordable everyday pieces to higher-end clothing (for both women and men), plus old-timey knickknacks, home goods, shoes, costume jewelry, toys, and new packaged gifts. There's so much to rummage through, and it doesn't have that musty thrift store feel--it's very well kept. We bought a bunch of things: glass cake display I had as a kid (that doubles as a fruit trifle dish), an abstract dress that was basically new (originally over $200, I snagged for $40), a metal dragon bracelet, and more. The staff is fun--they seem like friends with each other, and a few even made me feel like we were becoming friends too, loll. It's a very cool atmosphere and well staffed. If no one's at the register, there's a bell you can ring and they'll be right there. I love this place--it is one of my highlights of the South End area!
