The layout of the store was fantastic, everything was clearly displayed so you wouldn't be walking around aimlessly for what you are shopping for. As for prices, I was pleased that everything was at a descent price compared to some other places I visited. The only bad point I have is that they were out of rats at that time, but with it being close to christmas It was understandable so I wasn't upset. The shop has, of course, changed a lot since then but then as well as now can be described as offering some of the broadest range of aquarium products of any small aquatics shop I have seen. The range is very specialised to tropical fishkeeping and the long experience of the owners shows in the choice of brands (i.e. reliability and appropriateness is valued over price) Most of the staff have been there for many years and are very helpful and knowledgeable. Newer / younger staff seem to have been well trained. The quality of the fish and aquatic plants is high (I can only speak for the freshwater fish, they sell marine as well) and there's a good range of live food available. The shop can get very busy at the weekend, but it is always well staffed; how many small shops have 3-4 people on hand?

Old fashioned pet store…read more It's old fashioned in as much as its laid out in a fashion more akin to a store in an Istanbul souk rather than the modern minimalist clean cut ways of the west. Stacked to the rafters with pet parafenalia it's the place to get all your pet needs met. For fellow cat owners they sell catnip mice that cause our cat to go a little mental and within a couple of days disembowel the cheap little toy. She loves 'em and it's a pleasure to watch her go mental.

Went back later the same day because 1 of the gold fish seem to be unhappy so I thought may i ought to add some toys/decoration but the same person told me their just getting used to their new environment. He could have easily just sell me some decoration but he didn't which I appreciate and I will go back this week to get two more goldfish :)
