I was assisted by a gentleman by the name of Alfredo. I came in for a small query and we ended up discussing Financials in-depth. I could not have been luckier to find someone who shows they truly care about making a customer's financial life easier. He recommended a secure credit card for me since I know for a fact my credit needs a lot of help. He walked me through the process and made sure I understood what the best next steps were. Also, when I had a question I ended up calling to make sure I knew what I was doing through the app. In the end it seemed to be a stupid question but he ensured me it wasn't. Always great knowing you can reach out and have all your questions answered. read more

Horrible bank! I went in to get change for my $20 dollar bills, since their ATM only dispenses $20 bills (I needed to get a whole $100 bill). And since they are a "sister bank" of my bank, which is MyPoint, I would think it would be okay. Apparently they don't provide change unless you open an account with them. WTH! A bank that doesn't provide change!? What a joke. Never am I opening an account with this bank. Instead I went across the street to SDCCU and they happily changed my $20s with no issues since I wasn't a member. Be better with your service Frontwave! I just needed change not a pot of gold. read more

I have been with Frontwave for a few years now, the experience at the Escondido branch is what all banks should be like. Friendly, knowledgeable and fantastic customer service. I have sent several friends and family for the switch. Recently I added my business account to Frontwave and was assisted by Jorge, he was very personable answered all my questions and helped with anything he could, my only complaint is having a 30 day hold on a business account makes doing business very hard. I would review this policy as a new business there is no way people can survive having their money held up for a month. read more

I recently opened a checking account with Frontwave Credit Union, having heard it was a more customer-friendly credit union. On 4/25/26 I initiated a wire transfer. Two days later I was notified by phone that they were refusing to complete the transfer. They claimed, without proof or in- depth research, that the recipient was a fraud. The purpose of the transfer was to purchase a medical device that I had researched and tested, and had found to be the only thing so far that relieved the constant pain I have had for over a month now, due to an injury by a pilates instructor, that also triggered a severe case of shingles. By denying the transfer, they have prolonged my pain and suffering. These banks should not have power to deny wire transfers on the basis of "suspicion" only, and should not have power to tell account holders how they may or may not use their own funds. Because I contested their decision, they have also closed out my account. read more

The roller-coaster of satisfaction that I've had with Frontwave continues. I have been a member for over 10 years. My husband and I now hold a mortgage, HELOC, money market, 3 credit cards, and an individual savings account. In the past couple of years, we have taken advantage of their CD promo offers. Each year they allowed us to open one in each of our names based on our track record with you and the number of products we have with you. This year, not so much. I had to stay on the phone with Sherry to try to do the same thing and was shut down. I asked if she could speak to her manager and get an exception as we had in the past. She put me on hold and after a time, said she would call me back with an answer. She called back and said the answer was "No." If I wanted a second CD I would have to open yet another account. She was professional and friendly and offered to stay on the line with me while I "applied" for a new savings account. About half-way through, she asked if I still needed her on the line. So I guess it's okay for me to waste my time opening an account with Frontwave that I probably won't use, but your rep won't stay on the line and see the process through. I want to thank Frontwave for making me feel insignificant today. read more

These guys are awesome. Always happy to greet you when you enter their branch. Very responsive. Seem to care about our business with them.

If I could give 0 starts or even negative stars, I would and I swear to god my kids life I would. These people are as scammers as anyone can imagine. We bought our house and decided to go with them for our solar loan. Boy, that was a mistake. It's not that we could not pay cash our solar off ( now that I look back, I definitely should have), I thought it would be better for us to hold as much as cash available at the time of the purchase. Here we are 4 years later we are selling our house, these fools they think they can pull a fast one and put a Lien on my house over a lousy $30K. The issue is that when we decided to go with them, they told us that the loan would be transferable + when my wife went in the office to talk to a person, they re-confirmed my wife that the loan is in fact transferable. I guess, I also should have also read the contract in complete and that's my lesson to learn but, I swear, I will never and ever in million years would suggest these guys or even business with these guys. You can do whatever you want but that's just my experience with these guys. read more

Really love the service here and I always feel welcomed by the staff. Have always had a positive experience! Only thing is that this location is the closest one to my home but it's still a considerable distance away, which makes it inconvenient. read more

Talked to Leilani for over 20 minutes told us to come it and so drove all the way down to Escondido to finish an account which should have been finish last week with Alfredo but was not. Frontwave Credit Union: Escondido - Banks & Credit Unions Near Me - Escondido, California

I have been a member since 2015 and they have always been a good credit union and service. They gave me a great auto loan and personal loan when I needed it. 5/5, great place and management. read more

Always met with a sincere greeting at this newly remodeled location. The banking experience always feels like a professional and personable transaction as opposed to just lining up at the counter for service. read more

I've been a member with Frontwave for nearly 10 years. Every single interaction I've had with them has been beyond exceptional and this time was no different. I worked with Alfredo and Carla on selling my old car all the way through securing and finalizing a loan for my new car. They provided all the information I needed and then some to make sure everything went smoothly throughout the whole process. I could not be happier with the service I was provided! read more

I took out a loan with this bank for my vehicle. This is the second auto loan my husband and I opened thru them. I gave them all the info they needed and they told me everything was good to go, then a few months later I get a letter telling me they don't have proof of insurance. The proceed to tell me if I don't provide them with insurance immediately that they will open a $6,000 policy out in my name that doesn't even cover me if I'm in the vehicle! Extortion to say the least!! I finally call someone who knows what they're talking about after sifting thru most of the mindless employees that work at the local branch. The man who helped me told me that this has been happening a lot lately and that their loan officers aren't doing their job correctly and inputting people's insurance info. He said he deals with it a lot! How do you forget to do your job and now I have to pay you?? Just when I thought all the nightmare was over then a few months later I get another letter now telling me they never received that title from my original lease holder. Somehow the other bank mailed it to the wrong place and they were unwilling to try and get another copy sent. They then tried to convert my loan over to a personal loan and charge me 16% interest, because they wouldn't do their job and get the title sent over! They basically just told me too bad it's not our problem. I would NEVER take a loan out with this inferior bank ever again!! They will try to steal from you as much as possible and get more money from you. Also the employees at the Escondido branch are some of the most rude, unhelpful and lazy people I have had to deal with. We actually went in paid off all our loans and closed our accounts because we hate this bank so much and of course when I closed it out they had an employee call me the next day who was extremely rude just to tell me "you won't be getting a title from us because we don't have it so it's your responsibility now!!" Switch to Navy Federal if your military, you'll get a much more professional treatment. read more

Hypocrisy is abound here. They tell you one thing, you do it because according to them it's all you need but then wait, there's more to do that wasn't initially revealed. *Ugh* I read previous reviews about poor customer service and bad experiences and I was giving them the benefit of the doubt because they came to my work and I opened an account there easy enough but it just got more a waste of time than anything. Advice: there are better credit unions for sure. read more

For the second time, after paying off a vehicle, I never received a pink slip. Shame on them, there won't be a third time!! I was told when they release interest in the vehicle they're done with it. In other words, customer care stops when they get their money. read more

I have some issues with Frontwave, both in general and with this branch in particular. I have an account at different credit union that identified Frontwave as a co-op I can use. But when I visit the Frontwave branch in Escondido, they can't help me. You see the Escondido branch is not a "shared branch," a term I just learned today in fact So if I need to get a cashiers check cut, they can't do it. I have to go to the San Marcos branch. To their credit, Frontwave DOES provide a "shared branch" selection filter in their online location search tool, but since I didn't know what was meant by "shared branch" I didn't know to select it. And should you wish to call a local branch to find out if they are a shared branch, you won't be able to find a local telephone number ANYWHERE. And should you try calling the 800 number, they will first have a hard time hearing you because all the other agents are talking so loudly, and then they will have no idea what you're talking about unless you use the term "shared branch." Oh, and some of their offices have restricted access because they're on military bases... and you don't realize that little detail until you drive there and then you have to drive somewhere else (the branch is NOT identified as being restricted in their location search tool). I wasted a lot of time figuring all this out today. Not fun. At least now I know... and now you know too. read more
