There were 9-10 of them that we saw, and about 4-5 of them were calves. There are 2 all white buffalo and the rest are brown or mixed with brown and white. We had a great experience seeing them. There is a double fence that keeps them safe from sightseers and vice versa. One bison/buffalo named Buffy stood up to walk and she wanted our attention. It was super cute. I spoke to her and she seemed to enjoy the interaction. This was great. I did feel bad that there were so many flies covering the bison/buffalo but this is a part of nature.

We got here after the park officially closed for the day and weren't able to actually get a tour or…read moreto see the inside exhibits. We were able to see some of the historic buildings on the site and to get a feel for the nature of the site. I think the site would be more suited to families with kids than for a couple of senior citizens. There is a small bison herd in the park across the street which also has a disc golf course and picnic area.
