This site was hyped WAY more than what we got from it. For full hookups, there is only one loop…read more(Loop F) for them and they do not support larger trailers/5th wheels. The sites on this loop have a max length of 40' back-in, but when we drove them, there is absolutely no way that there were more than 2 spots that would have accommodated this and it wouldn't have been an easy fit unless you're very experienced with backing in a camper/5th wheel. The sites were extremely close together as well, with no mature trees, and not real parking for cars. Also, we noticed a trend of cars taking up extra spots and many cars for one site spilling over into others sites. We stayed in H10 and he sites were much more spacious. There were no mature trees around the campsite at all, but plenty of room for our kids to roam and play. The sites are electric only with water pump stations around. Luckily, we were situated in a spot that we could run hose to the spigot for water. We would suggest having an extra 100-150' of hose if you're planning to stay here. There is a cute park right on this loop for the kids to play at. The dump stations had very low water pressure making it difficult to flush the black tank. Additionally, they only had 3 spots for dump which meant there is a wait and it kind of sucked in the rain. We did see a lot of wildlife which was fun for the kids (and man). It was fairly quiet even though our loop was completely full. The scenery is beautiful. The river is gorgeous and fishing was fun. It was harder to find a spot to fish from - you cannot fish from the piers which is very inconvenient with little kids to navigate wet rocks and risk a fall. They have a few very nice boating docks to launch from. The store has very minimal supplies - be ready to make sure you don't need anything, or you'll have to pay the toll to get across the bridge to get to the grocery store. There are no grocery stores on the island. There is no gas stations on the island currently and there is one being remodelled. Hopefully, it'll be ready next year. It was a nice stay, but it was not as epic as we had hoped to be (and it had been hyped to be). It really isn't our go to for the future.

The place is a gorgeous place!!! The spots get reserved fast…read more Some spots have cellular services for Canada and USA. Keep in your mind when you come up to the park for camping. It is easy to find the place and some sites have some leaves or branches covered which is you need to look carefully. I gave this park 5 stars for amazing nature and location. 4 stars for bathroom because limited showers per bathroom sites even though we have a lot of sites. They have washing station next to the bathroom sites which are great and get 5 stars for this! We all need some place to wash our stuff from cooking. 5 stars for grill station that they are in great condition which is I did not expect that! Bring a lot of bug sprays because they have more insects that you don't see that often in area where you normally live. Overall staying there for camping is a wonderful place and definitely family friendly!!

About 4 hours away from Toronto, and 1 hr from Ottawa, you'll find this park, perfect for camping,…read morehiking, beaches and other outdoor activities. Overall, it was an amazing and relaxing weekend, but I feel like it's a great place for those with families close by to Ottawa, but not sure if it's worth the trek from Toronto. There were a lot of FAMILIES. We didn't see anyone on our hikes, and only a few older couples during our canoeing in the smaller lake, but they were mainly on the beaches and in the camp sites. Our ACTIVITIES included a hike along Sylvan Trail (1.5hr). The park had a guide that you can borrow from the Trailhead. It basically made you aware of the changing terrain (Dense woods, pastures and others) and different types of rock that you may not realized (lots of grade 7 geography here). Also did a mini easy hike along Lally Homestead (about .5 hr) thru pastures, woods and ends up at a old farmhouse and fields. Also a nice marsh/creek area, but lots of animal poop. There's a day use beach that was small and full of families. The main beach, was bigger with nice green grass to lie on rather than the usual sandy parts. There were a lot of people, but it didn't seem to crowded. The swimming areas were small and roped off - as the rest of it was very seaweedy. It would have been nicer if the landing area for the canoes wasn't also in the swimming area. You can also CANOE / KAYAK, which could be rented at the Park Store. The canoe was $24 for 4 hours. You can either depart from the area near the store (but still have to carry the canoe a bit of the way) and go around Loon Lake or rent the canoe at the main beach. It would have been nice to get some help from the store to move it to the shore, but oh well. Loon Lake was nice and quiet with no motor boats and only a few others on the lake. Lots of fish here, sunfish and some bigger ones. They like worms more than bait - you don't even need to fish, just dip the worm in the water and someone will bite! I felt like the fish whisperer or something. Great place to bring the kids for fishing. The CAMPSITE at Fallows was nice, far away from others with lots of trees. Some of the sites, the car is up on a hill, and you need to walk down a bit , but I didn't mind it too much. We were warned that Racoons were frequenting the sites but we had no idea what we were in for. As we were setting up the tent, the worms we bought were just on the ground. We turned around and something bit it and ate all the worms! No kidding - so we were more careful, but every night we had a visitor. They had no fear and even came up to the table as we were eating! I shone the flash light at them and saw 4 beady little eyes staring back at me peeking from behind the tent. The next night, they were up on the tree and ran across the site. The final night, as we were relaxing at the campfire, I saw beady eyes and ears climbing on top of my chips at the table! The FACILITIES were okay, could have been better. Our campsite had a dirty underwear buried in the dirt, wax all around where the tent could have been, and aluminum cans left in the firepit. Would have been nice if they maintained it better. The WASHROOMS were okay, but they need to clean it more than once a day (only in the morning at 9am) and not during peak hours. At night it was filthy. One of the faucets was very powerful (not sure why) and made everything around it wet. I did very much like the $5 pancake breakfast the Friends of the Park offered. Although they had run out and hour into the service, 3 sausages, 3 pancakes, coffee and juice for $5. Sometimes they also do a barbeque. We saw a lot of ANIMALS here including porcupine, caterpillar, frogs, deer, raccoons and snakes. It could be because the the park sits on a border of different climates and terrains (I know this thanks to the trail guide). It was nice, but even the landscape wasn't breathtaking as some other places we've been. Definitely a very good family campground. I also learnt that lots of young teenage girls like to straighten their hair (when it's already super straight) and put make up on when they are camping. Not sure why.

Ridiculous that this place is rated so low. 5 star experience for me and my family…read more Don't be fooled, this place is strict, so make sure you're not loud talkers or partiers and you should be fine.

No other campers were close to us, so the site felt private. There were flush toilets and showers near the site which were super convenient. The park itself is well maintained, including the beach areas. We enjoyed hiking the trails and also took advantage of the park's canoe rental. It cost $28 for a full day rental, which included two life jackets and the paddles. Will definitely be back!

We spent 3 nights and 4 days camping in this beautiful park this summer and were totally thrilled…read morewith how well maintained the entire campground was and how private our site was. The comfort stations were meticulously clean and water stations were always just a short stroll from our site. There are 2 shallow beaches that were rarely crowded during our stay. There is kayak and canoe rentals available and we took advantage of the canoe rental to go fishing in the lake. Fishing was phenomenal as almost every cast returned at leave a small sunfish, perfect for young/beginner shoreline angler like my daughter. There are plenty of hiking trails and wild life. While fishing, we spotted some water snakes, giant snapping turtles and many frogs/toads. Only downside was the amount of mosquitoes we had to fight off due to plentiful rainfall earlier in the season. We would definitely return to camp here again and next time, we'll be sure to book for a week as the 4 days just flew right on by!
