The walk-in feature was very attractive to be able to drop in and get a basic cut with a general reasonable 15 minute wait. Now the barber or barbers might be there or maybe not. The turnover of barbers is like a revolving door. I went today ( Saturday) and the usual barber decided not to work today. There was a new barber there that I've never seen before. It's a one man shop and sometimes there's a short wait but never so long that I can't wait. His prices are reasonable, low by some standards. He always has something interesting to talk about or in some cases, just listens to his customers rattle on. I like the way he talks to the person in the chair and not simply everyone else. Kind of makes the customer feel better about being there since he's the guy paying to be there. He's an easy barber to recommend.

Rey is the only barber there but he is excellent with cutting hair and has the best personality. He is very quick but extremely thorough. My husband has been going to Rey's for many years and has never had a complaint so much so that I started going to Rey's for my hair cut which is a very simple style - very short on the sides and back of the head and feathered on top. ONE STAR -- Second chance, same terrible customer service…read more My husband had a 9:30 appointment at Barbershop and Beers in Dunnellon. The barber didn't arrive until approximately 9:40. When we expressed frustration that his appointment hadn't started on time, they skipped him and took a walk-in who arrived after him. We know he arrived after us because we spoke with him before they called him back. Apparently, having an appointment and being there first still doesn't guarantee your turn. From our perspective, being passed over after raising a legitimate concern felt disrespectful and retaliatory. A late arrival could have been handled with a simple apology and an explanation. Instead, we were left watching someone who came after us get served first. This is the SECOND time we've experienced this kind of treatment here. We didn't leave a review the first time because we gave them the benefit of the doubt. Today was their second and final chance. Customers shouldn't have to stay silent about poor service to keep their place in line. Our time matters, too. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend taking your business somewhere else. We certainly will.
