I had my eye on this place the last time couple of times I was in town, but unfortunately, the schedule was always a week or two out... which of course is a great sign in my opinion. So when I arrived a few weeks back, I told myself to get on it lickity split. And sure enough, I was able to book a date while still in town. Let me tell you, if you have always had a "go to" barber or stylist, it can be a bit nerve racking when going somewhere else, and by someone else. Queue up Carly Simon's "You're So Vain"- but c'mon... aren't we all just a little? So, I opted for the works. Shirt, Shower, and Shave. Oops... wrong place ... ahem... I mean a cut, beard trim, and shave. WOW!! Talk about feeling like Beyoncé and her diva self... man... what a treat! I explained some of my frustration with a cow lick that makes me feel like a Little Rascal (and I don't mean Spanky) and Diamond had an answer for that. She nailed the cut exactly how I wanted it, and then moved onto the beard trim. She gave the perfect fade and trimmed it up nicely. Then came the shave... that's the spa treatment I mentioned earlier. Hot towels before and after. Nice clean smooth shave with a single blade razor. I felt refreshed and clean. I didn't know who I was going to get today, but I can promise you, Diamond delivered all Aces! I hope to be here on a more permanent basis and once that happens, no need to look any further than Diamond. And if not, I'm sure any other MotherFather in this joint will do. The job was fine; it did cost me more than I was used to at my regular place, which is Great Clips. In fact, most of the barber shops now are higher than this guy was. I stop tipping once they charger over $12. This one was $15 so as far as I am concerned I gave a $3 tip.
