Just had my first haircut here. While pricier than some of the alternatives (my cut and color were each $75), I got a really good hair cut and a well chosen semi-permanent conditioning glaze with exactly the right tint.
I was impressed by the fact that I came in looking like an unkempt wild thing, gave John (the owner and primary stylist) very minimal guidance as to what I wanted in terms of style and color, and nevertheless walked out with exactly the color and cut I had wanted (and been used to from Aveda. . . my style hasn't changed much in the last 8 years), but that I hadn't clearly communicated to John. John just figured out where to go with my messy hair based on very minimal communications from me and his own good judgment, and that quality of intuition is, I think, fairly rare.
Even though I could get a decent cut Indulgences for 1/2 the price, I'll definitely go back to Frongillo for my next haircut or color on island. read more
