"SVP, Je cherche à peu de lingot de Cocagne". He shook his head and said nope. And then I tried other choices I have always wanted to try.
Amazing experience here...between my requests to goûter this n that, to get a tranche ou une piéce of that....and his excellent English and teasing me for being ripped off to death in the Bay , and I don't even get raw French cheeses---
My total came to less than €6!!! He gave me 3 different kinds, taught me to not bother with St Felicién if I just ate St Marcellin ( yesterday)--- that Brebis frais was out of this world, that Laguiole (from Auvergne) was like the best sharp cheddar....
Peu moins, SVP-- non, peu plus , SVP The .... BACK n forth it went. He respected me for knowing which cheeses came from where, which were sheep v cow....
Amazing fresh selection, not as much as the one on Rue Lepic-- which I patronized yesterday. Glad I took this route, quite by accident!
