If you go through Rockledge you have to stop at Grimaldi Candies, founded by Vincent Grimaldi,…read moreMelbourne's Candy Man. Grimaldi was a 10th-generation Italian confectioner. In 1961 while strolling the snack aisle in Miami he got the idea to cover potato chips in chocolate and the rest his history. Since 1969 Grimaldi's has been famous for their Chips N Chocolate, chocolate covered potato chips. They are also known for their Ghost Pepper Caramels and Key Lime Truffles. All of the treats are made with high quality ingredients and without additives or preservatives. Grimaldi sold his namesake business in 1999 when he retired. Jim and Trisha Frazier became the fourth owners of Grimaldi's when they purchased the business in 2014. Today, Grimaldi Candy Co. is one of the largest specialty chocolate manufacturers in the southeastern United States. This is the production plant and cute retail store on U.S. 1 in Rockledge and there is also a retail store at The Avenue Viera. You can book a factory tour for your visit here. For the longest time I have wanted to stop at Grimaldi's whenever I passed the exit but I was always in a rush to reach somewhere else. I finally got the chance to visit this summer and the experience did not disappoint. As soon as I came in I was warmly welcomed and offered a sampling tray of their classic treats including the Key Lime Truffle. They sell bark, the chocolate covered chips in milk and dark chocolate, caramels, fudge, truffles, dipped treats, and more. They even have sugar free options. They also have a little boutique area selling gift items like water bottles, wallets, hats, jewelry, and bath items. After serious deliberation I left with a box of Chips N' Chocolate, white and milk chocolate haystacks, Pecan Rum Bark, and coffee truffles. My haul will last me a long time. The white haystack was especially creamy and delicious. Grimaldi's chocolate is rich and you can taste the difference. If you want to be the most popular person at your next gathering, show up with a box of the Chips N' Chocolate. They are the the perfect addictive combination of salty sweet. You can't go wrong with any of the treats here. It is easy to see why they have stood the test of time.

The star of the show there is the chocolate covered chips which you can choose either milk, or dark. They're ridiculously good! I have to say though, my personal favorite from here is the dark chocolate covered pretzels with the ghost pepper chili; omg.. sooo good if you're a fan of spicy sweet items. I love how my lips are tingling afterwards! The absolute cure for when you're having a rough day ladies; do it! P.S. - They ship. Just call and make arrangements.

The place clearly has a strong neighborhood vibe. Even on a holiday, it felt like a regular hangout spot where many of the patrons seemed to know each other and the bartenders. That kind of atmosphere always adds a layer of warmth you can't manufacture. Service-wise, our waitress was very friendly and attentive when she was at the table. Food delivery did take longer than expected considering the restaurant didn't appear overly busy, but to be fair, it was a specialized St. Patrick's Day menu which likely slowed the kitchen down. Now to the food. My co-diner ordered the corned beef Reuben, served on grilled rye with a generous pile of crinkle fries. The sandwich was stacked with tender corned beef and had that classic deli-style balance of meat and sauerkraut. He described it simply as "very good," which from him is a strong endorsement. I ordered the traditional Irish stew with potatoes and cabbage, which came plated with a hearty portion of mashed potatoes. The stew itself had a few nice chunks of beef and vegetables in a rich brown gravy that definitely leaned into bold seasoning. The only note is that the pepper level was quite heavy across the stew, mashed potatoes, and cabbage. If you're someone who enjoys a strong pepper-forward flavor profile, this will absolutely be right up your alley. Portions were generous and the meal definitely delivered that comfort-food, stick-to-your-ribs Irish pub feeling. Overall, a positive experience with friendly service, a welcoming neighborhood atmosphere, and hearty holiday fare. I'd happily come back again -- especially to explore more of the regular menu outside the St. Patrick's Day rush.

I signaled the bartender to let her know there was no fish, only batter, when suddenly approached by someone from the kitchen. I told him there were two small pieces of fish amongst this pile of batter and I was not satisfied with the meal. He has said, making excuses that he had cooked it himself and that it was fine. He took my plate of batter and walked off with an attitude. Recommend the fish and chips. The cook was rude and disrespectful. Definitely not at all what expected. I will never be back. Came for Easter dinner, left Hungary and Angry.
